What Happened In March?

Ahh!yes!March!came!and!went!and!you!probably!were!too!

focused!to!realize!what!the!heck!happened!for!this!month.!!Plus!I’m!

sure!a!lot!of!us!were!dealing!with!our!midterms!so!it’s!really!not!your!

fault!to!be!putting!99.9%!of!your!attention!on!SPRING!BREAK!!

Although!some!of!us!had!plans!to!go!away!for!spring!break!and!

some!of!us!just!planned!on!barely!getting!out!of!bed!for!spring!break,!

we!had!something!to!do!!!Even!those!folks!who!lived!far!away!and!

stayed!at!Pace,!had!a!chance!to!enjoy!some!of!the!events!that!were!

thrown!on!by!the!RA’s!that!were!on!campus!!

Aside!from!that!I!hope!everyone!had!a!Safe!St.!Patrick’s!day!and!

their!fair!share!of!corn!beef!&!cabbage!!Oh!and!remember…!

Break!Edition!was!a!good!chance!for!people!to!have!a!nice!drink!and!hang!out!!

RA!Morgan!had!her!Ice!Cream!Social…with!a!Twist!!!What!was!the!twist!you!ask?!Well,!even!though!you!get!to!eat!ice!cream!with!toppings,!you!learned!about!economics!in!

the!format!of!a!hunger!banquet!!

Meet The Lobbsters As many of you know, the Lobbsters are an essential part of the identity of Martin Hall. Although here they can be seen calmly studying on a Tuesday night, do not be fooled! Lo and behold this group of unique folks have kept duty interesting with old school Mario Kart and Garage Band with the full set…drums and mic too! To say it simply, Martin wouldn’t be the same without them.

With talent, business professional, beach

swag and PACE PRIDE, Ashe took the sash

and was crowned Ms. Valley. She showed

off her acting talent and walked with pride

down the runway. Residents were able to

enjoy some popcorn while we all watched 5

amazing woman go for the title. Everyone is

a winner in our eyes and we want to thank

the contestants and our lovely judges.

what!the!march!of!dimes!stood!for. The!March!of!Dimes!Foundation!is!a!United!States!

nonprofit!organization!that!works!to!

improve!the!health!of!mothers!and!babies.!

She!held!a!baby!food!eating!contest!where!

the!winner!won!a!baby!bottle!full!of!candy.!

NEW DORM Beware the Ides of March!!

The Ides of March is a day on the Roman calendar that corresponds to March 15. It was marked by several religious observances, and became notorious as the date of the assassination of Julius Caesar in 44 BC. The death of Caesar made the Ides of March a turning point in Roman history, as one of the events that marked the transition from the historical period known as the Roman Re-­public to the Roman Empire

New Dorm Wing Eating Contest Although the Ides of March in New Dorm did not spark a social and political revo-­lution, there was a positive and significant turning point in the community that the New Dorm Staff hopes to foster and perpetuate for the remaining time in the semester. A wing eating contest was facilitated by the staff were residents had to finish six large suicidal flavored wings with in one minute. Participants were not al-­lowed to have any water, celery , dipping sauces or bread. Resident Steve Atti was the winner.

The second part of the pro-­gram involved alcohol awareness due to the fact that many American enjoy wings with beer;; the alco-­holic beverage that contains the most calories. To simu-­late this, residents were al-­lowed to enjoy non-alcoholic root beer. The Wing eating contest to this date was the most well attended program in New Dorm for this Academic year and each member of the staff played an intricate role in the success of this program. Samantha Bass-­ford (RD of Hillside/Ho-Jo) even showed up to the pro-­gram to show support.
