CINEMA RELEASE: Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released into the UK Cinemas on the 20th of December 2015. On its opening weekend it earned £34,011,849, whilst showing in 670 screens across the country. As well as being shown in 4,134 screens in the US earning $247,966,675.

Overall, the international box-office totalled at $1,122,000,000 after being released in 65 countries, including Slovakia, Uruguay, Brazil, Australia and many more.

DOMESTIC BOX OFFICE SALES:

Sold for around £15, Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released on 18th April 2016. In the week beginning 10th April, around 2,960,255 Blu-Ray copies were sold in the US, with around $73,887,965 being spent on the Blu-ray DVD.

DIGITAL RELEASE: To celebrate the release of the new Star Wars movie, all six films within the franchise became available to download digitally in HD for the first time, on April 10th 2015. The franchise will be available on iTunes, Google Play, VUDU, Amazon, Xbox Video, PlayStation Store and Verizon Fios. You can now purchase The Force Awakens on iTunes, as well as other digital stores including Amazon and Google Play, for around $19.99. iTunes released The Force Awakens on their platform before anyone else as an exclusive release before the DVD/Blu-Ray release in late April.
