ABOUT USThe Women in Engineering club (WiE) in SFU, consisting of approximately 150 members, strives toencourage and support the excellence of underrepresented students who pursue engineering. Bynurturing strong academic and social relationships, we aspire to increase the presence of studentsin STEM - to not only succeed in their professional careers, but to inspire future generations ofengineers. Our current priority is community connections through WiE’s three major portfolios:

WiE provides guidance to groups that face adversity in engineering/STEM. All of this is possiblethrough programs and events such as the High School Outreach Program, Mentorship Program, andindustry focused events - including annual networking events and company visits.

WiE aspires to encourage and empower underrepresented students in their journey throughengineering. Numerous events and activities are held to support and develop each portfolio of ourmission statement. This is possible through our generous sponsors who promote the professionaland personal advancement of engineers. Our goals include to:

Promote an inclusive and diverse community and allow students to achieve excellence fromtheir transition from high school to their professional careers.Hold outreach programs which work to inspire students to pursue engineeringEnable community connections in the professional world through networkingStrengthen the bonds between mentors and mentees to knit the engineering community into a
