Annual Performance Report 2011 - FAITH 2000 Results

Archdiocesan Faith 2000 Summary of Results for Schools programs 2011 to 2009Faith 2000 results are used to set systematic program improvement goals in the teaching of our Faith. The scores represent the percentage of students who perform at a proficient level of learning in their knowledge of their Faith. For example, if a number of students score below the proficiency standard in the CHURCH domain, teachers need to work to more effectively teach the Religion Curriculum Standard #5. By the same process, areas of excellence can be identified and accordingly, students and teachers can be affirmed. The domain results may also be used with parents to help them understand the relationship between the Archdiocesan Religion Curriculum and the Faith 2000 Assessment program. The following chart shows the Archdiocesan average percentage scores for all schools during the 2011 to 2009 school year for each level of Faith 2000.

Annual Performance Report

Enrollment/Retention RateEnrollment is the lifeblood of our schools. Student enrollment is tracked student through our student management system. The table below demonstrates the steady decline of 1,175 students over the last seven years and 71 Catholic schools in the archdiocese have been reduced to 68 schools. One school was closed and two other schools were converted to Charter schools.

The 2011 Indiana legislation included a school choice bill which went into effect on July 1, 2011. This allowed students coming from the public schools to receive a voucher of public tax dollars to assist families who want a Catholic education for their students. In the first year of implementing the Indiana School Scholarship program more than 1,000 students received the voucher, the enrollment in our 68 Catholic schools has increased over 600 students.

Annual Performance Report

AttendanceFifty-six of our schools maintain their attendance records in the archdiocesan data management system. The system has been used to report attendance to the Indiana Department of Education. The percentage of students present for the last six years has been above 96 percent. In order to meet the attendance requirement, school attendance should be above 95 percent present for the year. Also the Indiana Department of Education reports attendance results for all schools in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. As an archdiocese, we are above the expected level of 95% for average daily student attendance. The attendance rate for all schools as it was reported to the Indiana Department of Education in the following chart.
