  • We realise that for many of you this might be your first festival experience. Please

check out the FAQs on our website for more advice, but heres a few top tips.

    Camping

Oxfam has a separate campsite with stewards checking for ID on the gate, at most festivals.

You do need to bring your own camping equipment (tent, sleeping bag etc)

Please be sensible with tent space, it might be limited.

You are not permitted to camp in Public Campsites, it is against the strict Festival License

terms and public are not permitted to camp in Oxfam fields

You will be provided showers, a luxury at many festivals, so bring a towel

    Leave No Trace

Use the recycling facilities available to you

Please keep on top of rubbish in your area and use the recycling bags from the Oxbox

Please be aware of your safety when camping

NEVER use a BBQ or fire inside a tent the fumes are deadly, even when almost out.

Dont ever change a gas bottle inside a tent

    What is Stewarding?

You will be the Eyes and ears of the festival

We fulfil various roles at our festivals including:

    Gate Stewards

    Traffic Stewards

    Disabled platform Stewards

    Car Parking

    Fire towers

    Bar work

Training for these roles will be given at your training session and onsite.

    Supervisors

We always need more Supervisors. If you are interested please get in touch with the Stewarding

Office via email to let them know.

The role of a supervisor is varied - supervisors can be located in a static position with their

stewarding team, or they can be responsible for a wider area with stewards at multiple locations.

The different elements of a Supervisors role are:

They will be the first port of call for questions from their group of stewards.

They will manage the positioning of their stewards to ensure all locations are covered and all

    stewards are allocated breaks.

They will be in regular communication with Stewards Control (Oxbox) to report issues or

    receive instructions.

Thank you for Stewarding with Oxfam this year, the donation of your time raises money to fight

global poverty. Last year Oxfam Stewards raised 1million!

You can contact the Oxfam Stewarding office on +44 (0) 300 200 1266 or [email protected]

    What to expect

Early morning/over night shifts (not at

every festival) be prepared to get up

    early/sleep during the day.

hour break per shift (which your

    supervisor will organise)

A variety of roles/positions. We have to

be flexible to fit in to the dynamic festival

    environment.
