The work clamp provides greater control by clampingthe workpiece to the fence. It also prevents theworkpiece from creeping toward the saw blade. Thisis very helpful when cutting compound miters. Toinstall the work clamp, place the shaft of the clamp ineither hole in front of the miter table base. Rotate theknob on the clamp to move it in or out as needed.

,_ WARNING: Make sure the saw blade or bladeguard will not hit the work clamp assembly whencutting 35° to 45 ° angles. Failure to heed thiswarning can result in serious personal injury.

The dust bag fits over the exhaust port on the upperblade guard. To install it, remove the dust guide fromthe exhaust port. Then, squeeze the two metal clips toopen the mouth of the bag and slide it on the exhaustport. Release the clips. The metal ring in the bagshould lock in between the grooves on the exhaustport. For more efficient operation, empty dust bagwhen no more than half full. This will permit better airflow through the bag.

TABLE EXTENSIONS

To install table extensions, insert the ends of theextensions into the holes in the sides of the base.Secure them in place by positioning a clamp bracketunder each table extension beneath the miter table.Orient each clamp bracket as shown in figure 4.Secure each clamp bracket in place with a clampbracket screw. The clamp bracket screw threadsthrough the clamp bracket and tightens againstbottom of miter table, securing clamp bracket againsttable extension.

The stop block is useful as a stop for cutting multiplepieces to the same length. It can be installed on eithertable extension on either side of the saw base:

• Slide the stop block on the back arm of either tableextension, then insert the table extension into thesaw base. See Figure 5.

• Use the small wing screw to secure the stop blockto the table extension. See Figure 5.

• Loosen the small wing screw and adjust the stopblock the desired distance from the blade for thecut to be made.

• Tighten small wing screw securely.

• Make a test cut in scrap material and measure thelength of the workpiece.

• Make any necessary adjustments.

WARNING: When using the work clamp withthe stop block, install the clamp on the stop blockside of the blade. This will eliminate thepossibility of the saw catching the loose end andkicking up. Failure to heed this warning canresult in serious personal injury.

A ADVERTENClA: Para evitar el peligro de quela sierra arranque accidentalmente y causeposibles lesiones graves, monte completamentetodas las piezas en la sierra antes de conectarlaa la corriente. La sierra jamas debe estarconectada a la corriente mientras se est6nmontando piezas, haciendo ajustes, instalando osacando hojas o accesorios, o cuando no est6en uso.

La abrazadera de trabajo proporciona un mayorcontrol, ya que aprieta la pieza de trabajo contra ladefensa. Tambien impide que la pieza de trabajo sedeslice hacia la hoja de la sierra. Esto resulta muy Qtilcuando se hacen cortes de angulo compuesto. Parainstalar la mordaza de trabajo, coloque el vastago dela mordaza en uno de los dos agujeros situados en laparte frontal de la base de la mesa de inglete. Hagagirar la perilla de la mordaza para moverla haciaadentro o hacia afuera, segQn se necesite.

A ADVERTENClA: Verifique que la hoja de lasierra o la protecci6n de la hoja no toque elconjunto de la mordaza de trabajo cuando cortea un angulo de 35 ° a 45 °. De ignorarse estaadvertencia, pueden ocurrir lesiones graves.

La bolsa para polvo calza sobre el puerto de escapesituado en la protecci6n superior de la hoja. Parainstalarla, saque la guia del polvo del puerto deescape. Despues apriete los dos clips metalicos paraabrir la boca de la bolsa y deslizarla sobre el puertode escape. Suelte los clips. El anillo metalico de labolsa debe calzar entre las estrias del puerto deescape.Para un funcionamiento mas eficaz, vacie labolsa guardapolvo cuando est6 a medio Ilenar. Estopermitira que el aire circule mejor a trav6s de la bolsa.

EXTENSIONES DE LA MESAVea la Figura 4.Para instalar las extensiones de la mesa, inserte losextremos de las extensiones en los agujeros de loscostados de la base. AsegQrelas en su lugarcolocando una brida de apriete debajo de cadaextensi6n de mesa bajo la mesa de inglete. Orientecada una de las bridas de apriete en su lugar con untornilla a trav6s de la brida de apriete y quedaapretado contra la parte inferior de la mesa de inglete,asegurando la brida de apriete contra la extensi6n dela mesa.

El bloque de parada es Otil para cortar varias piezas ala misma Iongitud. Puede instalarse en cualquiera delas dos extensiones de la mesa, a uno de los doslados de la base de la mesa:

• Deslice el bloque de parada sobre el brazo traserode una de las extensiones de la mesa, y despuesinserte la extensi6n de la mesa en la base de lasierra. Vea la Figura 5.

• Utilice el pequeSo tornillo de palomilla paraasegurar el bloque de parada a la extensi6n de lamesa. Vea la Figura 5.

• Afloje el tornillo pequeSo de palomilla y ajuste elbloque de parada a la distancia deseada de la hojapara efectuar el corte.

• Apriete bien el tornillo peque_o de palomilla.• Haga un corte de prueba en material de desecho y

mida la Iongitud de la pieza de trabajo.

• Haga los ajustes necesarios.

_, ADVERTENCIA: Cuando utilice la mordaza detrabajo junto con el bloque de parada, instale lamordaza del mismo lado que el bloque deparada con respecto a la hoja. Esto eliminara laposibilidad de que la sierra atrape el extremosuelto y produzca un rechazo. De ignorarse estaadvertencia, pueden ocurrir lesiones graves.
