LIMITED WARRANTY ON COMPANION HIGH PRESSURE WASHER

For 180 days from the date of purchase, when this Companion pressure washer is maintained and operatedaccording to the instructions in the owner's manual, Sears will repair, free of charge, any defect in material andworkmanship.

If this washer is used for commercial purposes, this warranty applies for only 60 days from the date of purchase.If this high pressure washer is used for rental purposes, this warranty applies for only 30 days after date ofpurchase.

This warranty does not cover:

• Expendable items such as spark plugs or air filters, which become worn during normal use.

• Repairs necessary because of operator abuse or negligence, including damage resulting from no water beingsupplied to pump or failure to maintain the equipment according to the instructions contained in the owner'smanual.

Warranty service is available by returning the high pressure washer to the nearest Sears service center or dealerin the United States.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state.

REMOVE PRESSURE WASHERFROM CARTON• Open carton and slice two corners opposite guide

handle from top to bottom so the panel can befolded down flat.

• Remove fillers and parts box shipped with yourpressure washer.

• Roll the pressure washer out the open end of thecarton.

• Raise guide handle, secure in place.

Lift the handle to uprightposition and slide thelocking caps into place.

• Check carton for additional loose parts.

Become familiar with each piece before assemblingthe pressure washer. Check all contents against theillustration on page 6. If any parts are missing ordamaged, call the pressure washer helpline at1-800-222-3136.

ASSEMBLING YOUR PRESSUREWASHERYour Companion high pressure washer was mostlyassembled at the factory. However, you will need toperform these tasks before you can operate yourpressure washer:

• Add oil to engine crankcase.• Add fuel to fuel tank.

• Connect high pressure hose to the spray gun andthe pump.

• Connect water supply to the pump.

Add Engine OilIMPORTANT: Any attempt to crank or start the enginebefore it has been properly serviced with therecommended oil may result in an engine failure.

NOTE: When adding oil to the engine crankcase, useonly high quality detergent oil rated with API serviceclassification SF, SG, SH, SJ or higher rated SAE 30weight. Do Not use special additives.

• Choose a viscosity according to the table below:

* The use of multi-viscosity oils (5W-30, 10W-30, etc.)in temperatures above 40°F (4°C) will result in higherthan normal oil consumption. When using a multi-viscosity oil, check oil more frequently.

** If using SAE 30 oil in temperatures below 40°F(4°C), it will result in hard starting and possibleengine bore damage due to inadequate lubrication.

• Place pressure washer on a level surface.• Clean area around oil fill.

• Remove oil fill cap and dipstick.

• Wipe dipstick clean, insert it into oil fill hole andtighten securely, remove dipstick. Addrecommended oil up to "Full" mark on dipstick.

• Pour slowly. Wipe dipstick clean each time oil levelis checked. Do Not overfill.

• Install oil fill plug and dipstick, tighten securely.

NOTE: Check oil often during engine break-in.

Add Gasoline

_ ARNING! Never fill fuel tank indoors. Neverfill fuel tank when engine is running or hot. DoNot smoke when filling fuel tank.

,_ WARNING! Never fill fuel tank completely full.Provide space for fuel expansion. Wipe awayany fuel spillage from engine and equipmentbefore starting.

• Use clean unleaded automotive gasoline and storein approved, clean, covered containers. Use cleanfill funnels. Never use "stale" gasoline left overfrom last season or gasoline stored for longperiods.

• Clean area around fuel fill cap, remove cap.

• Slowly add gasoline to fuel tank. Use a funnel toprevent spillage. Fill tank to about 1.5" below thetop of the filler neck.

• Install fuel cap and wipe up any spilled gasoline.

Connect Hose and Water Supply to PumpIMPORTANT: You must attach all hoses before youstart engine. Starting engine without all hosesconnected and water supplied will damage pump.

• Uncoil high pressure hose and attach one end ofhose to the base of the spray gun. Tighten byhand.

• Attach other end of high pressure hose to the highpressure outlet on the pump. Tighten by hand.

Before you connect your garden hose to the waterinlet, inspect the inlet screen. Clean the screen if itcontains debris or have it replaced if damaged. DoNot run the pressure washer if the inlet screenis damaged. Never siphon inlet water.

Run water through garden hose for 30 seconds toflush out debris. Connect garden hose to waterinlet. Tighten by hand.

Inspect inletscreen. DoNot use if

CAUTION! There MUST be at least ten feet of

unrestricted garden hose between the pressurewasher inlet and any flow shut off device, such as a 'Y'shut-off connector or other convenience-type watershut-off valve. Damage to pressure washer resultingfrom disregarding this warning will not be covered bythe warranty.

• Turn ON the water (open supply valve completely).

,_ CAUTION! Before starting the pressurewasher, be sure you are wearing adequateeye protection.

CHECKLIST BEFORE STARTINGENGINEReview the unit to ensure you have performed all ofthe following:

• Check that oil has been added to proper level inengine crankcase.

• Add proper gasoline to fuel tank.

• Check for properly tightened hose connections(high pressure and water supply) and that there areno kinks, cuts, or damage to the high pressurehose.

• Provide proper water supply (not to exceed 100°F).

• Be sure to read "Safety Rules" and "Operation"sections before using the pressure washer.

• If starting unit after storage, see "Storage" sectionon page 13.

KNOW YOUR PRESSURE WASHERRead the owner's manual and safety rules before operating your pressure washer.Compare the illustrations with your pressure washer to familiarize yourself with the locations of various controlsand adjustments. Save this manual for future reference.

To Start Your Pressure Washer

To start your engine-powered pressure washer for thefirst time, follow these instructions step-by-step. Thisstarting information also applies whenever you startthe engine after you have let the pressure washer sitidle for at least a day.

• Place the pressure washer in an area closeenough to an outside water source capable ofsupplying water at a flow rate greater than2.2 gallons per minute.

• Check that the high pressure hose is tightlyconnected to the spray gun and to the pump. See"Assembling Your Pressure Washer" forillustrations.

• Make sure unit is in a level position.

• Connect the garden hose to the water inlet on thepressure washer pump. Turn ON the water.

CAUTION! Do Not run the pump without the watersupply connected and turned on. You must follow thiscaution or the pump will be damaged.

• Squeeze trigger on gun to purge pump system ofair and impurities.

• Attach nozzle extension to spray gun. Tighten byhand.

• Position the nozzle in the low pressure mode (slidenozzle forward) and squeeze the trigger on thespray gun to relieve pressure caused by turningON the water. Water will flow out of the gun in athin stream. Continue to hold trigger until there is asteady stream of water and no air remains in thesystem. Release the trigger.

• Engage the safety latch to the spray gun trigger.

Move the throttle lever to "Fast" position, shown asa rabbit.

Move the choke lever to the "Choke" position.

NOTE: For a warm engine, be sure the choke lever isin the "Run" position.

• Place your left foot on the lower frame and graspthe handle as shown. Unit may appear differentthan that shown here.

• Pull the starter grip handle lightly with your righthand until you feel some resistance, then pullbriskly.

• Return the starter grip handle slowly. Do Not letrope "snap back" against starter.

• When engine starts, slowly move choke lever tothe "Run" position. If engine falters, move chokelever to the "Choke" position, then to the "Run"position.

• If engine fails to start after six pulls, move chokelever to the "Run" position. If engine fires, but doesnot continue to run, move choke lever to the"Choke" position, then to the "Run" position.

NOTE: If the recoil starter is hard to pull, it may benecessary to squeeze the gun trigger to relieveinternal pump pressure.

How to Stop Your Pressure Washer

• Move throttle control lever to "Stop" position.

• Squeeze trigger on the spray gun to relievepressure in the hose.

NOTE: A small amount of water will squirt out whenyou release the pressure.

How To Use the Adjustable Nozzle

You now should know how to START your pressurewasher and how to STOP it. The information in thissection will tell you how to adjust the spray patternand apply detergent or other cleaning chemicals.

_ CAUTION! Never adjust spray pattern whenspraying. Never put hands in front of nozzle toadjust spray pattern.

Your spray gun is equipped with an adjustable nozzlethat permits you to change the spray pressure and thespray pattern, as follows:

• Pushing the nozzle forward changes the spraypressure from high to low pressure. Pulling thenozzle back changes the pressure from low to high.

Slide nozzle backward forhigh pressure mode.

"%Slide nozzle forward forlow pressure mode anddetergent application.

Twist nozzle counter-clockwise for fan pattern.

Rotating the nozzle adjusts the spray pattern froma narrow pattern to a fan pattern.

Twist nozzle clockwise fornarrow spray pattern.

• Point the nozzle toward the ground, disengage thesafety latch, and press the trigger to test thepattern.

• For most effective cleaning, keep the spray nozzlebetween 8 to 24 inches away from cleaningsurface.

• If you get the spray nozzle too close, especiallyusing high pressure mode, you may damage thesurface being cleaned.

• Do Not get closer than 8 inches when cleaningtires.

Applying Detergent with the AdjustableNozzle

IMPORTANT: Use chemicals designed specifically forpressure washers. Household detergents coulddamage the pump.

IMPORTANT: You must attach all hoses before youstart the engine. Starting the engine without all thehoses connected and without the water turned ON willdamage the pump.

To apply detergent, follow these steps:

• Review the use of the adjustable nozzle.

• Prepare detergent solution as required by the job.

• Hang the detergent solution container on the hookattached to the handle.

• Place the filter end of the detergent siphoning tubeinto the detergent container.

CAUTION! When inserting the filter into the detergentcontainer, route the tube so as to keep it frominadvertently contacting the hot muffler.

• Make sure the garden hose is connected to thewater inlet. Check that the high pressure hose isconnected to the spray gun and the pump. Startthe engine.

• Attach the nozzle extension to the spray gun. Slidethe adjustable nozzle forward to low pressuremode. Detergent cannot be applied with the nozzlein high pressure position.

• Apply detergent to a dry surface, starting from thebottom and working up.

• Allow the detergent to "soak in" for 3-5 minutesbefore rinsing. Reapply as needed to preventsurface from drying.

• Start at lower portion of area to be washed andwork upward, using even overlapping strokes.

IMPORTANT: You must flush the chemical injectionsystem after each use by placing the filter into a cleanbucket of water and running the pressure washer inlow pressure for 1-2 minutes.

Pressure Washer Rinsing

WARNING! Be extremely careful if you use thepressure washer from a ladder, scaffolding orany other relatively unstable location. Pressurein a running washer builds as you climb. Whenyou press the trigger, the recoil from the initialspray could cause you to fall. The high pressurespray could also cause you to fall if you are tooclose to the cleaning surface.

For Rinsing:

• Slide the nozzle backward to high pressure, pressthe trigger and wait for the detergent to clear.

NOTE: You can also stop detergent flow by removingdetergent siphoning tube from container.

• Keep the spray gun a safe distance from the areayou plan to spray.

• Apply a high pressure spray to a small area, thencheck the surface for damage. If no damage isfound, it is okay to continue cleaning.

• Start at the top of the area to be rinsed, workingdown with same overlapping strokes as you usedfor washing and applying detergent.

Automatic Cool Down System(Thermal Relief)If you run the engineon your pressure washer for3-5 minutes withoutpressing the triggeron the spray gun,circulating water in the pump can reach temperaturesbetween 140-145°F. The automatic cool down systemcools the pump by discharging the warm water onto theground, preventing internal pump damage.

GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONSThe pressure washers warranty does not cover itemsthat have been subjected to operator abuse ornegligence. To receive full value from the warranty,the operator must maintain pressure washer asinstructed in this manual including proper storage asdetailed in "Storage" on page 13.

Some adjustments will need to be made periodically toproperly maintain your pressure washer.

All service and adjustments should be made at leastonce each season. Follow the requirements in the"Maintenance Schedule" chart above.

NOTE: Once a year you should clean or replace thespark plug and replace the air filter. A new spark plugand clean air filter assure proper fuel-air mixture andhelp your engine run better and last longer.

PRESSURE WASHERMAINTENANCE

Check and Clean Inlet Screen

Examine garden hose inlet screen. Clean if it isclogged or replace if it is torn.

Check High Pressure Hose

High pressure hoses can develop leaks from wear,kinking, or abuse. Inspect hose before each use.Check for cuts, leaks, abrasions, bulging of cover, ordamage or movement of couplings. If any of theseconditions exist, replace hose immediately.

_ AUTION! Never repair a high pressure hose.Replace with hose that exceeds the maximumpressure rating of your pressure washer.

Check Spray Gun and Nozzle Extension

Examine hose connection to spray gun and make sureit is secure. Test trigger by pressing it and makingsure it springs back into place when you release it.Engage safety latch and test trigger. You should notbe able to press trigger. Replace spray gunimmediately if it fails any of these tests.

Check In-Line Filter

Refer to the illustration and service the in-line filter if itbecomes clogged, as follows:

1. Detach spray gun and nozzle extension from highpressure hose. Detach nozzle extension from spraygun and remove o-ring and screen from nozzleextension. Flush the screen, spray gun, and nozzleextension with clean water to clear debris.

2. If the screen is damaged, the o-ring kit contains areplacement in-line filter screen and an o-ring. Ifundamaged, reuse screen.

3. Place the in-line filter screen into the threaded endof the nozzle extension. Direction does not matter.Push the screen in with the eraser end of a penciluntil it rests flat at the bottom of the opening. Takecare to not bend the screen.

4. Place the o-ring into the recess. Push the o-ringsnugly against the in-line filter screen.

5. Assemble the nozzle extension to the spray gun,as described earlier in this manual.

Purge Pump of Air and Contaminants

To remove air from the pump, follow these steps:

• Set up the pressure washer as described in the"Assembling Your Pressure Washer" section andconnect the water supply.

• Pull the trigger on the gun and hold until a steadystream of water appears.

To remove contaminants from the pump, follow thesesteps:

• Set up the pressure washer as described in the"Assembling Your Pressure Washer" section, andconnect the water supply.

• Remove the nozzle extension from the gun.

• Start the engine according to instructions in "HowTo Use Your Pressure Washer" section.

• Pull the trigger on the gun and hold.

• When the water supply is steady and constant,engage the safety latch and refasten the nozzleextension.

Nozzle Maintenance

A pulsing sensation felt while squeezing the spray guntrigger may be caused by excessive pump pressure.The principal cause of excessive pump pressure is anozzle clogged or restricted with foreign materials,such as dirt, etc. To correct the problem, immediatelyclean the nozzle using the tools included with yourpressure washer and follow these instructions:

1. Shut off the engine and turn off the water supply.2. Remove the nozzle from the end of the nozzle

extension. Separate the nozzle extension from thespray gun. Twist the nozzle clockwise to thestream position. Using the supplied 2mm (5/64)allen wrench, remove the nozzle from the end ofthe nozzle extension.

O-Ring MaintenanceYour pressure washer uses o-rings to keep hose andspray gun connections tight and leak-free. Throughthe normal operation of your unit, these o-rings maybecome worn or damaged.

Provided with your pressure washer is an O-RingMaintenance Kit which includes replacement o-rings,rubber washer and water inlet filter. Refer to theinstruction sheet provided in the kit to service yourunit's o-rings. Note that not all of the parts in the kitwill be used on your unit.

Parts in the O-Ring Kit include:

• 1 o-ring, red, (p/n B2726) for the end of the spraygun connection between gun and nozzle extension.

3. Remove the in-line filter from the other end of thenozzle extension.

4. Use the wire included in the kit (or a small paperclip) to free any foreign material clogging orrestricting the nozzle.

1 o-ring, yellow, (p/n B2264) for the end of thehigh pressure hose.

Insert wire into nozzle and turn backand forth to clear obstruction.

5. Using a garden hose, remove additional debris byback flushing water through the nozzle extension.Back flush between 30 to 60 seconds. Turn theadjustable nozzle extension to stream spray andmove the nozzle from low to high while flushing.

6. Reinstall the nozzle and in-line filter into the nozzleextension. Do Not overtighten the nozzle with theallen wrench.

7. Reconnect the nozzle extension to the spray gun.8. Reconnect the water supply, turn on the water, and

start the engine.

9. Test the pressure washer by operating with nozzlein the high and in the low positions.

NOTE: The above two o-rings are close in size.Please match carefully to assure proper o-ring usage.

• 1 rubber washer, (p/n B2385) for the inside of thegarden hose connector.

• 1 water inlet screen (p/n B2384) for the gardenhose connector.

To remove a worn or damaged O-Ring:

• Use a small flathead screwdriver to get underneaththe o-ring and pry it off.

ENGINE MAINTENANCE

Checking Oil Level

Oil level should be checked prior to each use or at leastevery 5 hours of operation. Keep oil level maintained.

Changing Oil

Change engine oil after the first 5 hours and every50 hours thereafter. If you are using your pressurewasher under extremely dirty or dusty conditions, or inextremely hot weather, change oil more often.

CAUTION! Avoid prolonged or repeated skincontact with used motor oil. Used motor oil hasbeen shown to cause skin cancer in certain

laboratory animals. Thoroughly wash exposedareas with soap and water.KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. DON'TPOLLUTE. CONSERVE RESOURCES.RETURN USED OIL TO COLLECTIONCENTERS.

Change oil while engine is still warm from running,as follows:

• Drain fuel tank by running pressure washer untilfuel tank is empty.

• Disconnect spark plug wire and keep it away fromthe spark plug.

• Clean area around oil fill, remove oil fillcap/dipstick. Wipe dipstick clean.

• Tip your pressure washer to drain oil from the oil fillinto a suitable container making sure you tip yourunit away from the spark plug. When crankcase isempty, return the pressure washer to uprightposition.

• Wipe dipstick clean, insert it into oil fill hole andtighten securely, remove dipstick. Addrecommended oil up to "Full" mark on dipstick.Pour slowly. Wipe dipstick clean each time oil levelis checked. Do Not overfill.

• Install oil fill plug and dipstick, tighten securely.

• Wipe up any remaining oil.

• Reconnect spark plug wire to the spark plug.

Service Air Cleaner

Your engine will not run properly and may bedamaged if you run it with a dirty air cleaner.

Replace the air cleaner once every 100 hours ofoperation or once each year, whichever comes first.Replace more often if operating under dirty or dustyconditions. Replacements are available at your localSears service center.

To service the air cleaner, follow these steps:

• Loosen screw and tilt cover down.

• Carefully remove cartridge assembly.

• To clean cartridge, gently tap pleated paper sideon a flat surface.

Reinstall clean or new cartridge assembly insidecover.

Service Spark Plug

Service the spark plug every 100 hours of operation oryearly, whichever occurs first.

,_ CAUTION! Disconnect spark plug wire fromspark plug and keep wire away from spark plugwhile servicing engine.

• Clean area around spark plug.

• Remove and inspect spark plug.

• Replace spark plug with the recommended plug ifthe electrodes are worn, or if the insulator iscracked or chipped.

• Check electrode gap with wire feeler gauge and setgap at 0.030 inches (0.76mm), if necessary.

• Install spark plug, tighten securely.

NOTE: You can purchase a new spark plug by calling1-800-366-PART.

Carburetor

If you think your carburetor needs adjusting, see yournearest Sears service center. Engine performancemay be affected at attitudes above 7000 feet. Foroperation at higher elevations, contact your nearestSears service center.

AFTER EACH USEWater should not remain in the unit for long periods oftime. Sediments or minerals can deposit on pumpparts and "freeze" pump action. Follow theseprocedures after every use:

• Flush detergent siphoning tube by placing the filterinto a pail of clean water while running pressurewasher in low pressure mode (adjustable nozzle inthe forward position). Flush for one to two minutes.

• Shut off the engine and let it cool, then remove allhoses.

• Disconnect spark plug wire from spark plug.

• Empty the pump of all liquids by pulling recoilhandle about 6 times. This should remove most ofthe liquid in the pump.

• If storing for more than 30 days see "Long TermStorage".

GENERAL• Inspect the high pressure hose for damage. Cuts in

the hose or fraying could result in leaks and loss ofpressure. Should any damage be found, replacethe hose. Do Not attempt to repair a damagedhose. Replace the hose with the genuine Searspart.

• Drain water from hose, gun, and nozzle extensionand properly coil it on the attached wireform.

• Reconnect spark plug wire to spark plug.

• Store unit in a clean, dry area.

_ ARNING! Never store the engine with fuel inthe gas tank indoors or in enclosed, poorlyventilated areas where fumes may reach anopen flame, a spark, or pilot light.

WINTER STORAGE

CAUTION! You must protect your unit from freezingtemperatures. Failure to do so will permanentlydamage your pump and render your unit inoperable.Freeze damage is not covered under warranty.

To protect the unit from freezing temperatures:

• Flush detergent siphoning tube by placing the filterinto a pail of clean water while running pressurewasher in low pressure mode (adjustable nozzle inthe forward position). Flush for one to two minutes.

• Empty the pump of all pumped liquids by pullingrecoil handle about 6 times. This should removemost of the liquid in the pump.

• Use pump saver, available at Sears retail itemnumber 74403, to treat pump. This prevents freezedamage and lubricates pistons and seals.

• If pump saver is not available, connect a 3-footsection of garden hose to the water inlet adapter.Pour RV-antifreeze (antifreeze without alcohol) intothe hose. Pull the recoil handle twice. Disconnect3-foot hose.

LONG TERM STORAGEIf you do not plan to use the pressure washer for morethan 30 days, you must prepare the engine and pumpfor long term storage.

It is important to prevent gum deposits from forming inessential fuel system parts such as the carburetor, fuelfilter, fuel hose or tank during storage. Also,experience indicates that alcohol-blended fuels (calledgasohol, ethanol or methanol) can attract moisture,which leads to separation and formation of acidsduring storage. Acidic gas can damage the fuelsystem of an engine while in storage.

Protect Fuel System

Draining Fuel Tank:

_ ARNING! Drain fuel, using a funnel, intoapproved container outdoors, away from openflame. Be sure engine is cool. Do Not smoke.

• Remove all gasoline from carburetor and fuel tankto prevent gum deposits from forming on theseparts and causing possible malfunction of engine.

• Run engine until fuel tank is empty and enginestops due to lack of fuel.

Change Oil

While engine is still warm, drain oil from crankcase.Refill with recommended grade. See "Changing Oil" onpage 12.

Oil Cylinder Bore

• Remove spark plug. Squirt about 1 ounce of cleanengine oil into the cylinder. Cover spark plug holewith rag. Pull recoil handle slowly to distribute oil.Avoid spray from spark plug hole.

• Install spark plug. Do Not connect spark plug wire.

Protect Pump

To protect the pump use Sears pump saver to preventfreeze damage and lubricate pistons and seals.

NOTE: Sears pump saver, item number 74403, isavailable as an optional accessory. It is not includedwith the pressure washer.

CAUTION! You must protect your unit from freezingtemperatures. Failure to do so will permanentlydamage your pump and render your unit inoperable.Freeze damage is not covered under warranty.

To use the pump saver:

_ AUTION! Read and follow all cautions andwarnings on the pump saver can label. Alwayswear eye protection when using pump saver.

• Attach hose on pump saver can to pump inlet.

• Push in can top to dispense pump saver.

• When pump saver fluid begins to exit pump outlet,the pump is protected.

• Remove pump saver from pump inlet.

OTHER• Do Not store gasoline from one season to another.

• If possible, store your unit indoors and cover it togive protection from dust and dirt. BE SURE TOEMPTY THE FUEL TANK.

IMPORTANT: Never cover your pressure washerwhile engine and exhaust area are warm.

Your Warranty Rights and ObligationsThe California Air Resources Board ("CARB") and SearsRoebuck and Co., USA, are pleased to explain the EmissionControl System Warranty on your model year 2000 and latersmall off-road engine (engine). In California, new enginesmust be designed, built and equipped to meet the State'sstringent anti-smog standards. Sears must warrant theemission control system on your engine for the periods oftime listed below provided there has been no abuse, neglect,or improper maintenance of your engine.

Your emission control system includes parts such as thecarburetor and the ignition system.

Where a warrantable condition exists, Sears will repair yourengine at no cost to you. Expenses covered under underwarranty include diagnosis, parts, and labor.

Manufacturer's Warranty CoverageThe model year 2000 and later engines are warranted fortwo years. If any emission related part on your engine (aslisted below) is defective, the part will be repaired orreplaced by Sears.

Owner's Warranty ResponsibilitiesAs the engine owner, you are responsible for theperformance of the required maintenance listed in thisowners manual. Sears recommends that you retain allreceipts covering maintenance on your engine, but Searscannot deny warranty solely due for the lack of receipts orfor your failure to ensure the performance of all scheduledmaintenance.

As the engine owner, you should be aware that Sears maydeny you warranty coverage if your engine or a part of it hasfailed due to abuse, neglect, improper maintenance,unapproved modifications, or the use of parts not made orapproved by the original equipment manufacturer.

You are responsible for presenting your engine to a Searsauthorized repair center as soon as a problem exists.Warranty repairs should be completed in a reasonableamount of time, not to exceed 30 days.

Warranty Commencement DateThe warranty period begins on the date the engine isdelivered.

Length of CoverageSears warrants to the initial owner and each subsequentpurchaser that the engine is free from defects in materialsand workmanship which cause the failure of a warrantedpart for a period of two years.

Repair or Replacement of Parts• Repair or replacement of any warranted part will be

performed at no charge to the owner at an approvedSears service center.

Warranty PeriodAny warranted part which is not scheduled for replacementas required maintenance, or which is scheduled only forregular inspection to the effect of "repair or replace asnecessary" shall be warranted for 2 years. Any warrantedpart which is scheduled for replacement as requiredmaintenance shall be warranted for the period of time up tothe first scheduled replacement point for that part.

DiagnosisThe owner shall not be charged for diagnostic labor whichleads to the determination that the warranted part isdefective if the diagnostic work is performed at an approvedSears service center.

Consequential DamagesSears may be liable for damages to other enginecomponents caused by the failure of a warranted part stillunder warranty.

Add-on or Modified Parts

The use of add-on or modified parts can be grounds fordisallowing a warranty claim. Sears is not liable to coverfailures of warranted parts caused by the use of add-on ormodified parts.

MONTAJE DE LA MAQUINALAVADORA A PRESIONLa gran mayoria de su maquina lavadora a presi6nCompanion ha sido ensamblada en la fabrica. Sin embargo,usted debera Ilevar a cabo los siguientes procedimientos antesde poner en funcionamiento su maquina lavadora a presi6n:

• Deposite aceite en la caja del cigOeSal del motor.

• Deposite combustible en el tanque.

• Conecte la manguera de alta presi6n a la pistola derociado y a la bomba.

• Conecte el suministro de agua a la bomba.

IMPORTANTE: Cualquier intento de hacer girar o arrancarel motor antes de que se haya depositado el aceiterecomendado puede resultar en falla del motor.

NOTA: Cuando agregue aceite al compartimiento del motor,utiliceOnicamente aceite detergente de alta calidad, designadocon la clasificaci6n API de servicio SF, SG, SH, SJ o superior,clasiflcado con el peso SAE 30. No use aditivos especiales.

Temperaturas de Uso Esperadas

El uso de aceites multigrado (5W-30, 10W-30, etc.) entemperaturas mayores a los 40-°F (4-°C) ocasionara unconsumo de aceite mayor al normal. Cuando utilice unaceite multigrado, revise con mayor frecuencia el nivel deaceite del motor.

Si utiliza aceite SAE 30 en temperaturas inferiores a los40-°F (4-°C), ocasionara que el arranque sea mas dificil eincluso que se desbiele el motor debido a su inadecuadalubricaci6n interna.

• Coloque la maquina lavadora a presi6n en una superficienivelada.

• Limpie el Area alrededor del Ilenado de aceite.

• Retire el tap6n del orificio de Ilenado y la varilla de medici6n.

• Limpie la varilla de medici6n, ins6rtela en el orificio deIlenado y aprietela firmemente; retire la varilla de medici6n.Deposite el aceite recomendado hasta la marca "Full"("Lleno") de la varilla de medici6n.

• Use combustible limpio y almac6nelo en recipientescubiertos, limpios y aprobados. Utilice embudos limpios.Nunca utilice gasolina "vieja" dejada de la estaci6nanterior o gasolina almacenada por periodos de tiempoprolongados.

• Limpie el area alrededor de la tapa de Ilenado delcombustible, retire la tapa.

• Agregue lentamente gasolina regular"SIN PLOMO" altanque de combustible. Use un embudo para evitar quese derrame. Llene el tanque lentamente hastaaproximadamente 1.5" por debajo de la parte la cima delcuello del tubo de Ilenado.

Conecte la Manguera y el Suministro deAgua a la BombaIMPORTANTE: Usted debera armar la extensi6n paraboquillas y conectar todas las mangueras antes de darlearranque al motor. La bomba resultara daSada si arranca elmotor sin tener todas las mangueras conectadas y elsuministro agua abierto.

• Desenrrolle la manguera de alta presi6n y conecte unextremo de la manguera a la base de la pistola derociado. Apriete con la mano.

• Conecte el otro extremo de la manguera de alta presi6n ala salida de alta presi6n de la bomba. Apriete con la mano.

• Antes de que conecte la manguera de ]ar6in a la entradade agua, inspeccione el colador de la entrada. Limpie elcolador si tiene residuos o solicite su remplazo siestada_ado. No haga funcionar la m_quina lavadora apresibn si el colador de la entrada est_ daSado.Nunca agua de cala de siphon.

• Conecte la manguera de jardin a la entrada del agua.Apriete con la mano.

Inspeccione larejilla de entrada.No la use siesta

limpielasi se encuentrasucia.

iPRECAUCION! DEBE haber por Io menos diez pies de

manguera de jardin libre entre la entrada de agua de la

lavadora a presi6n y cualquier dispositivo de control de flujo de

agua, sea el caso de un conector 'Y' o de cualquier otro tipo de

• ABRA el suministro del agua (abra la valvula desuministro completamente).

COMO USAR SU MAQUlNALAVADORA A PRESION

Como Darle Arranque a su M_quinaLavadora a Presion

Para darle arranque a su maquina lavadora a presi6nmovida a motor por primera vez, siga estas instruccionespaso a paso. Esta informaci6n acerca del arranque inicialtambi6n se aplica cuando vaya a darle arranque al motordespu6s de haber dejado de la maquina lavadora a presi6nfuera de uso por al menos un dia.

• Coloque la maquina lavadora a presi6n en un area cercanaa una suministro de agua exterior capaz de abastecer aguaa un volumen mayor de 2.2 galones pot minuto.

• Revise que la manguera de alta presi6n se encuentreconectada firmemente a la pistola de rociado y a labomba. Vea "Armado de Su Maquina Lavadora aPresi6n".

• Asegerese que la unidad est6 nivelada.

• Conecte la manguera de jardin a la entrada del agua.Aprietela con la mano. Abra el suministro de agua.

iPRECAUCION! No haga funcionar la bomba si no tiene el

suministro conectado y abierto Debera cumplir con esta

precauci6n, de otra forma la bomba resultara dafiada

Apri6tela manualmente.

Presione el disparador en la pistola para purgar de aire e

impurezas el sistema de bombeo.

Acople la boquilla de extensi6n a la pistola aspersora.

• Coloque la boquilla en el modo de baja presi6n (deslicela boquilla hacia adelante) y presione el disparador en lapistola aspersora para liberar la presi6n provocada pot

haber abierto (ON) el agua. El agua Ilenara la pistolamediante un ligero flujo. Contint_e sosteniendo eldisparador hasta que haya un flujo estable de agua y noquede residuo alguno de aire en el sistema. Suelteentonces el disparador.

• Fije el pestillo de seguridad al disparador de la pistolaaspersora.

Cerrojo deSeguridad

• Mueva el control de la valvula de admisi6n a la posici6n"Rapido" ("Fast"), que se distingue con la figura de unconejo.

• Mueva la palanca del ahogador a la posici6n "Ahogado"

("Choke")

NOTA: En el caso de que el motor est6 caliente, asegerese

de que la palanca del ahogador se encuentre en la posici6n"En marcha" ("Run")

• Coloque su pie izquierdo en el marco inferior y sujete lamanija tal y como se muestra en la figura La aparienciade la unidad puede ser ligeramente distinta

• Hale ligeramente la manija del arranque hasta que sientacierta resistencia Despu6s halela rapidamente

• Jale la cuerda de arranque lentamente No permita quela cuerda regrese bruscamente en contra del arrancador

• Cuando arranque el motor, mueva lentamente la palancadel ahogador a la posici6n "En marcha" ("Run") Si elmotor falla, mueva la palanca a la posici6n "Ahogado"("Choke"), y despu6s a la posici6n "En marcha" ("Run")

• Si el motor no arranca despu6s de 6 tirones, mueva lapalanca del ahogador a la posici6n "Ahogado" ("Choke"),y despu6s a la posici6n "En marcha" ("Run")

NOTA: Si el principio de culatazo debera estirar duramente,para poder ser nessecary al estruj6n el disparador del fusil aalivia la presi6n interna de bomba

Como Detener su M_quina Lavadora aPresion

• Mueva la palanca de control a la posici6n "Stop"("Parado").

• Apriete el gatillo de la pistola de rociado paraeliminar la presi6n de la manguera.

NOTA: Observara una pequeSa cantidad de agua cuandoelimine la presi6n.

Como Usar la Boquilla Ajustable

Usted ya debe saber como darle ARRANQUE a su maquinalavadora a presi6n y como DETENERLA. La informaci6n deesta secci6n le dira como ajustar el patr6n de rociado ycomo aplicar detergente u otros quimicos de limpieza.

,_ iPRECAUCION! Nunca ajuste el patr6n de rociadocuando est6 rociando. Nunca coloque las manos en

frente de la boquilla para ajustar el patr6n de rociado.

En el extremo de su pistola de rociado existe una manijaque se puede mover hacia adelante y hacia atras paraajustar el patr6n de rociado para que sea de alta o bajapresi6n.

• Usted tambi6n puede ajustar el patr6n de rociado girandola boquilla para que est6 concentrado en un patr6n dechorro o un patr6n expandido en abanico.

Mueva la boquiIla hacia atr&spara obtener el modo de altapresi6n.

"%Mueva Ia boquilIa haciaadelante para obtener el modode baja presi6n y para Iaaplicaci6n del detergente.

Apunte la boquilla hacia el suelo, desenganche el cerrojode seguridad y apriete el gatillo para probar el patr6n derociado.

Gire la boquilla en sentidocontrario alas manecilIas deI

reloj para un patrdn de rociadoen abanico.

Gire la boquilla en sentido deIas manecillas del reloj para unpatr6n de rociado a chorro.

El patr6n de rociado se ajusta de un patr6n angosto a unpatrdn en abanico girando la boquilla.

• Para una limpieza mas efectiva, mantenga la boquilla derociado de 8 a 24 pulgadas de la superficie de limpieza.

• Si coloca la boquilla de rociado demasiado cerca podriadaSar la superficie, especialmente cuando est6 usando elmodo de alta presi6n.

• No coloque la boquilla a menos de 8 pulgadas cuandoest6 limpiando Ilantas.

Aplicacion del Detergente Usando laBoquilla AjustableIMPORTANTE: Utilice quimicos diseSados especifica-mentepara maquinas lavadoras a presi6n. Los detergentescaseros podrian daSar la bomba.

IMPORTANTE: Usted debera conectar todas las manguerasantes de darle arranque al motor. Arrancar el motor sintener todas las mangueras conectadas y sin el suministro deagua ABIERTO (ON) causara el daSo de la bomba.

Para aplicar el detergente, siga los siguientes pasos:

• Revise el uso de la boquilla ajustable.

• Prepare la soluci6n detergente segt_n Io indicado para eltrabajo de limpieza.

• Cuelgue el recipiente de la soluci6n detergente en elgancho conectado a la manija.

• Coloque el extremo con el filtro del tubo para succi6n dedetergente en el recipiente del detergente.

iPRECAUCION! Cuando coloque el filtro en el recipiente

del detergente, coloque el tubo de manera que no entre encontacto con el silenciador caliente.

• Mueva la boquilla ajustable hacia adelante para obtenerel modo de baja presi6n. El detergente no puede setaplicado si tiene la boquilla en la posici6n de alta presi6n.

• Asegt_rese que la manguera de jardin est6 conectada ala entrada del agua. Revise que la manguera de altapresi6n est6 conectada a la pistola de rociado y a labomba. Dele arranque al motor.

• Aplique el detergente sobre la superficie seca,comenzando en la parte inferior y dirigi6ndose haciaarriba.

• Permita que el detergente "penetre" de 3 a 5 minutosantes de enjuagar. Vuelva a aplicarlo cuando seanecesario para evitar que la superficie se seque.

• Para lavar, comience en la parte inferior del Area queesta lavando y dirijase hacia arriba, utilizandomovimientos largos, parejos y superpuestos.

IMPORTANTE: Usted debera lavar el sistema de inyecci6nde quimicos despu6s de cada uso colocando el filtro en unbalde de agua limpia y haciendo funcionar la maquinalavadora a presi6n de 1 a 2 minutos en el modo de bajapresi6n.

Enjuage de la M_quina Lavadora aPresion

,_ iADVERTENCIA! Sea extremadamente cuidadososi usa la maquina lavadora a presi6n desde una

escalera, andamio o cualquier superficie

relativamente inestable. La presi6n de una maquinalavadora en funcionamiento se acumula a medida

que usted sube. Cuando oprima el gatillo, la fuerza

de reacci6n del rociado inicial podria hacerlo caer. El

rociado de la alta presi6n podria hacerlo caer si esta

muy cerca de la superficie de limpieza.

Para Enjuage:

• Mueva la boquilla hacia atras para obtener el modo dealta presi6n, oprima el gatillo y espere que deje de salirdetergente.

NOTA: Tambi6n puede detener la circulaci6n del detergenteretirando el tubo de succi6n del recipiente.

• Mantenga la pistola de rociado a una distancia segura delarea que planea rociar.

• Aplique un rociado de alta presi6n en un area pequeSa,despu6s revise si la superficie presenta daSos. Si noencuentra daSos, puede continuar con el trabajo delimpieza.

• Comience en la parte superior del area que va aenjuagar, dirigi6ndose hacia abajo con los mismosmovimientos superpuestos que utiliz6 para el lavado y laaplicaci6n del detergente.

Sistema de Enfriamiento Autom&tico(Alivio Tdrmico)El agua que circula dentro de la bomba puede alcanzartemperaturas entre los 140-145-°F si hace funcionar el motorde su maquina lavadora a presi6n de 3 a 5 minutos sinoprimir el gatillo de la pistola de rociado. El sistema deenfriamiento automatico se activa a esta temperatura yenfria la bomba descargando agua caliente en el piso,evitando asi el dafio interno de la bomba.

RECOMENDACIONES GENERALESLa garantia de la maquina lavadora a presi6n No cubre loselementos que han sido sujetos a abuso o negligencia porparte del operador. Para hacer valida la cobertura total de lagarantia, el operador debera mantener la lavadora depresi6n tal y como se indica en el manual, incluyendo suadecuado almacenamiento, como se describe en la secci6n

"Almacenamiento" en la pagina 36.

Algunos ajustes tendran que hacerse peri6dicamente paramantener adecuadamente su maquina lavadora a presi6n.

Todos los servicios y ajustes deberan hacerse por Io menosuna vez en cada estaci6n. Siga las instrucciones de la tabla"Programa de Mantenimiento" descrita anteriormente.

NOTA: Una vez al aSo, usted debera limpiar o remplazar labujia y el filtro de aire. Una bujia nueva y un filtro de airelimpio garantizan una mezcla de combustible-aire adecuaday le ayuda a su motor a funcionar mejor y a tener una vidaetil mas prolongada.

Revise la Manguera de Alta Presion

Las mangueras de alta presi6n pueden desarrollar fugasdebido al desgaste, dobleces o abuso. Revise la mangueraantes de cada uso. Revise si existen cortes, fugas,abrasiones, levantamiento de la cubierta, daSo o movimiento

de los acoplamientos. Si existe cualquiera de estascondiciones, remplace la manguera inmediatamente.

,_ iPRECAUCII_N! Nunca repare la manguera de altapresi6n. Remplacela con una manguera que cumpla

con la capacidad minima de presi6n de su maquina

lavadora a presi6n.

Revise la Pistola y la Extension paraBoquillas

Examine la conexi6n de la manguera a la pistola ycerciorese de que est6 en buen estado. Pruebe el gatillooprimi6ndolo y asegurandose de que se devuelve a su sitiocuando Io suelte. Coloque el cerrojo de seguridad y pruebe

el gatillo. Usted no debe ser capaz de oprimir el gatillo.Remplace la pistola inmediatamente si falla cualquiera deestas pruebas.

Revise el Filtro en Linea

Consulte la ilustraci6n y suministre servicio al filtro en lineasi se tapa siguiendo estos pasos:

1. Retire la pistola y la extensi6n para boquillas de lamanguera de alta presi6n. Retire la extensi6n paraboquillas de la pistola y retire el anillo 'o' y el colador dela extensi6n para boquillas. Lave el colador, pistola yextensi6n para boquillas con agua limpia para eliminartoda clase de residuos.

2. Si el colador esta daSado, encontrara un colador para elfiltro en linea y un anillo 'o' de repuesto en el juego deanillos 'o'. Si no esta daSado, vuelva a usarlo.

3. Coloque el colador del filtro en linea en el extremo conrosca de la extensi6n para boquillas. Su direcci6n noimporta. Coloque el colador ejerciendo presi6n con elborrador de un lapiz hasta que se asiente pot completoen el fondo de la abertura. Tenga cuidado de no doblar elcolador.

Coloque el anillo 'o' en la ranura respectiva. Empuje elanillo 'o' hasta que quede ajustado contra el colador delfiltro en linea.

Conecte la extensi6n para boquillas a la pistola derociado de la manera descrita anteriormente en estemanual.

Elimine el Aire y los Contaminantes de laBomba

Para retirar el aire de la bomba, siga los siguientespasos:

• Instale la maquina lavadora a presi6n como esta descritoen la secci6n de "Montaje De La Maquina Lavadora APresion" y conecte el suministro de agua.

• Hale el gatillo de la pistola y mant6ngalo apretado hastaque obtenga una corriente de agua constante.

Para retirar los contaminantes de la bomba, siga lossiguientes pasos:

• Instale la maquina lavadora a presi6n como esta descritoen la secci6n de "Montaje De La Maquina Lavadora APresion" y conecte el suministro de agua.

• Retire la extensi6n para boquillas de la pistola.

• Ponga en marcha el motor de acuerdo alas instruccionesde la secci6n "C6mo Usar Su Maquina Lavadora APresi6n".

Hale el gatillo de la pistola y mant6ngalo apretado.

Cuando el suministro de agua sea uniforme y constante,

enganche el cerrojo de seguridad y vuelva a ajustar laextensi6n para boquillas.

Mantenimiento de la Boquilla

Si siente una sensaci6n pulsante al momento de apretar elgatillo de la pistola rociadora, puede que sea causada por lapresi6n excesiva en la bomba. La causa principal de lapresi6n excesiva en la bomba es cuando la boquilla seencuentra atascada o tapada con materiales extraSos, talescomo tierra, etc. Para corregir el problema, limpieinmediatamente la boquilla usando las herramientas incluidascon su lavador a presi6n y siga las instrucciones siguientes:

1. Apague el motor y apague el suministro de agua.

2. Remueva la boquilla del extremo de la extensi6n de la

boquilla. Separe la extensi6n de la boquilla, de la pistolarociadora. Gire la boquilla en direcci6n de las agujas delreloj, a la posici6n "stream" (chorro). Usando la Ilave deAllen de 2mm (5/64) provista, remueva la boquilla delextremo de la extensi6n de la boquilla.

3. Quite el en el filtro de la linea del otto fin de la extensi6n

de boquilla.

4. Use el alambre incluido en el juego (o un pequeSo sujetapapeles) para liberar cualquier material extraSo que est6tapando la boquilla.

5. Usando una manguera de jardin, remueva cualquierdesecho adicional, poniendo agua en la extensi6n de laboquilla. Haga 6sto de 30 a 60 segundos. Gire laextensi6n de la boquilla ajustable a "stream spray"(chorro rociador) y mueva la boquilla de "low" (bajo) a"high" (alto), mientras drene el agua.

6. Instale de nuevo la boquilla y en el filtro en-linea en laextensi6n. No la apriete demasiado con la Ilave Allen.

7. Conecte de nuevo la extensi6n de la boquilla a la pistolarociadora.

8. Conecte de nuevo el suministro de agua, prenda el agua,y encienda el motor.

9. Pruebe el lavador a presi6n al hacer funcionar la boquillaen la posici6n "high" y "low".

Mantenimiento de los Anillos 'O'

Durante la operaci6n normal de su maquina lavadora apresi6n los anillos 'o' mantienen apretadas y libres de fugaslas conexiones de las mangueras y la pistola. EIIos puedendesgastarse o daSarse con el uso.

Su maquina lavadora a presi6n viene con un Juego deMantenimiento para anillos 'O', el cual contiene anillos 'o',arandela de caucho y un colador de repuesto para laentrada de la manguera de jardin.

Las partes del Juego de Anillos 'O' incluyen:

• 1 anillo 'o' rojo, (p/n B2726) para el extremo de laconexi6n de la pistola de rociado entre la pistola y laextensi6n para boquillas.

1 anillo 'o' amarillo, (p/n B2264) para el extremo de lamanguera de alta presi6n.

Introduzca el alambre dentro de la boquilla y girelo hacia loslados, hacia adelante y atras hasta despejar la obstrucci6n.

Para retirar un anillo 'O' desgastado o daSado:

MANTENIMIENTO DEL MOTOR

Revision del Nivel del Aceite

El nivel del aceite debera ser revisado antes de cada uso o

al menos cada 5 horas de operaci6n. Conserve el nivel delaceite.

Cambio de Aceite

Cambie el aceite del motor despu6s de las primeras 5 horasy cada 50 horas a partir de ese momento. Si esta utilizandosu maquina lavadora a presi6n bajo condiciones de extremasuciedad o polvo, o en un clima demasiado caliente, haga elcambio de aceite con mayor frecuencia.

,_ iPRECAUCI(_N! Evite el contacto prolongado orepetido de piel con aceite usado de motor. El aceite

usado del motor ha sido mostrado al cancer de la pielde la causa en ciertos animales del laboratorio.

Completamente lavado expuso Areas con el jab6n y el

agua.MANTENGA FUERA DE ALCANCE DE NINOS. NO

CONTAMINE. CONSERVE los RECURSOS. VUELVA

ACEITE USADO A la COLECCION CENTRA.

Cambie el aceite con el motor caliente despuds delfuncionamiento, como se indica a continuacion:

• Drene el tanque del combustible haciendo funcionar lamaquina lavadora a presi6n hasta que el tanque est6vacio.

• Desconecte alambre de bujia y Io mantiene lejos delbujia.

• Limpie el Area alrededor de la abertura para Ilenado deaceite, retire la varilla de medici6n/tapa del aceite. Limpiela varilla de medici6n.

• Incline su maquina lavadora a presi6n para drenar elaceite a trav6s del orificio de Ilenado en un recipienteadecuado asegurandose de inclinar la unidad hacia ellado opuesto de la bujia. Cuando la caja del cigiJeSalest6 vacia, vuelva a colocar la maquina lavadora apresi6n en posici6n vertical.

• Limpie la varilla de medici6n, ins6rtela en el orificio deIlenado y aprietela firmemente; despu6s, vuelva a retirarla varilla de medici6n. Deposite el aceite recomendadohasta la marca "Full" de la varilla de medici6n. Depositeel aceite lentamente. Limpie la varilla de medici6n cadavez que revise el nivel del aceite. No Ilene excesivamente.

• Instale el tap6n del orificio de Ilenado y la varilla demedici6n, apriete firmemente.

• Limpie los residuos de aceite.

• Conecte de nuevo alambre de bujia al bujia.

Servicio del Depurador de AireSu motor no funcionara adecuadamente y puede da_arse siusted Io hace funcionar con un depurador de aire sucio.

Suministre servicio al depurador de aire una vez cada100 horas de operaci6n o una vez por aSo, Io que sucedaprimero. Suministre servicio mas frecuentemente si launidad funciona bajo condiciones de mucha suciedad opolvo. Los repuestos se encuentran disponibles en su centrode servicio local Sears.

Para dar servicio al filtro de aire, siga los pasos que sedetallan a continuacion:

• Afloje el tornillo y quite la cubierta.

• Remueva cuidadosamente el cartucho.

• Para limpiar el cartucho, golpee ligeramente su costadode papel plegado sobre una superificie firme.

• Reinstale el cartucho nuevo o limpio debajo de lacubierta.

Proporcione Servicio a la Bujia

Proporcione servicio a la bujia cada 100 horas de operaci6no una vez al aSo, Io que suceda primero.

,_ iPRECAUClON! Desconecte el alambre de la bujiay mant6ngalo alejado de la misma cuando suministreservicio al motor.

• Limpie el Area alrededor de la bujia.

• Retire y revise la bujia.

• Cambie la bujia si los electrodos estan desgastados, o siel aislador esta roto o partido. Para su remplazo, utiliceuna bujia Champion RJ-19LM.

• Revise la separaci6n del electrodo con un calibrador dealambre y ajuste la separaci6n a 0.030 pulgadas(0.76 mm) si es necesario.

• Instale la bujia y aprietela firmemente.

Carburador

Si usted cree que su carburador necesita ajuste, visite sucentro de servicio Sears mas cercano. El funcionamiento del

motor podria resultar afectado a attitudes por encima de7000 pies. Para operaciones a elevaciones mayores,p6ngase en contacto con el centro de servicio Sears mascercano.

DESPUES DE CADA USO GENERALNo debera haber agua en la unidad por largos periodos detiempo. Los sedimentos de minerales se pueden depositaren pares de la bombay "congelar" su funcionamiento. Llevea cabo estos procedimientos despu6s de cada uso:

• Lave el tubo de succi6n de detergente colocando el flltroen un balde de agua limpia al mismo tiempo que hacefuncionar la maquina lavadora a presi6n en el modo debaja presi6n (boquilla ajustable en posici6n delantera).Lave por un minuto o dos minutos.

• Apague el motor y d6jelo enfriar, despu6s retire todas las

mangueras.

• Desconecte el alambre de la bujia.

• Revise la manguera de alta presi6n para ver si presentadaSos. Los cortes en la manguera o el desgaste de lamisma pueden ocasionar fugas y p6rdida de presi6n. Siencuentra algQn daSo, remplace la manguera. No intentereparar una manguera daSada. Remplace la mangueracon la parte Sears genuina.

• Drene el agua de la manguera, boquilla de extensi6n y lapistola aspersora. Enrollela adecuadamente en el soporteincluido.

• Vuelva a conectar el alambre a la bujia.

• Almacene la unidad en una Area limpia y seca.

iPRECAUCI(_N! Usted debera proteger su unidad de las

temperaturas de congelamiento. Si no Io hace, daSara

permanentemente la bomba y la unidad no podra funcionar.

La garantia no cubre el daSo de la unidad ocasionado por

congelamiento.

Para proteger la unidad de las temperaturas decongelamiento:

• Lave el tubo de succi6n de detergente colocando el filtro

en un balde de agua limpia al mismo tiempo que hacefuncionar la maquina lavadora a presi6n en el modo debaja presi6n (boquilla ajustable en posici6n delantera).Lave por un minuto o dos minutos.

• Saque todos los liquidos de la bomba halando la manijade retroceso aproximadamente 6 veces. Esto deberaevacuar la mayoria del liquido de la bomba.

• Utilice un protector de bomba, disponible en Sears con elnQmero de catalogo 74403, para cuidar la bomba. Aqu61protege a la unidad contra el congelamiento y lubricatanto los pistones como los empaques.

• Si el protector de bomba no esta disponible, conecte untramo de 3 pies de manguera de jardin a la entrada deagua. Vierta anticongelante RV (anticongelante sinalcohol) en la manguera. Jale la manija de arranque dos

veces. Desconecte despu6s la manguera de 3 pies.

ALMACENAMIENTO PROLONGADOSi usted no planea usar la maquina lavadora a presi6n pormas de 30 dias, debera preparar el motor para unalmacenamiento prolongado.

Es importante evitar la formaci6n de dep6sitos de goma enlas partes esenciales del sistema del combustible talescomo carburador, filtro del combustible, manguera o tanquedel combustible durante el almacenamiento. Tambi6n, laexperiencia indica que los combustibles con mezclas dealcohol (llamados gasohol, etanol o metanol) pueden atraer

la humedad, Io que Ileva a la separaci6n y formaci6n deacidos durante el almacenamiento. La gasolina acida puededaSar el sistema del combustible de un motor durante elalmacenamiento.

Proteja el Sistema de Combustible

Drenaje del Tanque de Combustible:

Cambio de Aceite

Con el motor todavia caliente, drene el aceite de la caja delcigQeSal. Vuelva a Ilenarlo con el grado de aceiterecomendado. Vea "Cambio de Aceite" en la pagina 35.

Aceite el Di_metro Interior del Cilindro

• Retire la bujia. Rocie aproximadamente 1 onza de aceitelimpio para motor dentro del cilindro. Cubra el orificio dela bujia con un trapo. Hale la manija de retrocesolentamente para distribuir el aceite. Evite el rociado delorificio de la bujia.

• Instale la bujia. No conecte el alambre de la bujia.

Protecci6n de la Bomba

A protege al salvador de bomba de uso de bomba Sears apreviene congelar el daSo y lubrica 6mbolos y sellos.

NOTA: El protector de la bomba, nQmero de item SearsnQmero 74403, estan disponible s61o como un accesorioopcional. No es incluido con la arandela de la presi6n.

Donde exista una condici6n que se pueda garantizar, Searsreparar& su motor sin costo alguno para usted. Los gastos cubiertosbajo la garantia incluyen diagn6stico, partes y mano de obra.
