Sargent Steam Model BRZ2 Owner's Manual

TRANSCRIPT

Cautions & Best Practices• This steam cleaner produces extreme heat - nearly 300 degrees. Use with caution. • Do not burn yourself or melt surfaces. Steam rises - keep hands/face at safe distance.• This steamer functions under tremendous pressure. Slowly remove cap ONLY after

gauge reads 0 and remaining steam has been released through the hose or when machine is completely cool. (See cap removal instructions for re-filling/re-heating.)

• WATER ONLY! Never put anything but water in your steamer. • No soaps, oils, fragrances, chemicals, descaling solutions, etc. It damages the ink-

alloy coating. Evidence of ANYTHING other than water in tank voids warranty.• Do not let water soak electronics, gauges or insulation. Always use the filler bottle. • Do not immerse steamer or hose in water. Attachments/brushes may be submerged.• Do not allow minerals to build in the tank. Flush out minerals regularly. (see page 8) • Do not allow your steamer to roll around in your car, bang into walls or fall off an

elevated surface. Housing and insulation may crack if dropped or bumped against a hard surface. (This repair is not covered under warranty.) Use extra extensions to reach higher. If you must work with it elevated, disengage wheels or strap into place.

• Do not transport steamer with the hose attached or with the electrical cord dangling.• Do not pull your steamer by the hose - especially when it’s hot and pliable.

Reattaching a pulled-apart hose is not covered under warranty.• Do not pull electrical plug out of the wall socket before turning off the power switch.• Do not pull the plug out of the wall from an angle. The ground post will not bend. • Do not steam near your smoke detector - it detects steam vapor as smoke. • In winter months when window glass is very cold, warm it by steaming from a

distance of 3” before touching the glass directly with the steam.• Do not let steamer freeze with water in tank. Expanding ice may cause tank to leak.• Move quickly to clean wallpaper, paint, oil-based polyurethane varnish, wood floors

or cabinets - do not deliver the steam to one spot for too long • Move slowly to remove wallpaper, paint or varnish.• Do not use steam directly on water-based varnish. Test an inconspicuous spot first.• Do not touch thin vinyl blinds directly with steam – they will warp - just spray & wipe. • Move quickly when cleaning leather. Test color-fastness in an inconspicuous spot.

Should color fade at all, make sure steam is delivered from a 3” distance. • Do not steam suede or velvet directly – damage to the nap may occur. Microfiber

furniture may be steamed directly with great results.• Do not spray steam directly into electronics especially LCD panels (microwave

oven). Deliver the steam from a distance of at least 4” and wipe away excess moisture immediately. Or spray your cloth with steam and then wipe LCD panel.

• When cleaning soft stones (pearls & opals) deliver steam at a distance of 2”.• Limit exposure to 15 second intervals when using the Plumbers Helper on thin PVC p-

traps - they may warp. Galvanized and copper pipes can tolerate longer exposure. • Supervise children - teach them how to avoid accidental burning. Anyone who can

safely use a stove or curling iron can be taught to safely use a Sargent Steamer. • When lending your equipment, make sure you give your friend good instructions and

a Friends Referral coupon so they can buy a Sargent Steam Cleaner of their own!

I’ll walk you through it!

The Cart keeps all attachments accessible and at your fingertips. You know when you’re in a hotel and the housekeeping staff comes down the hall with their fully loaded cleaning cart? Our Cart does this for you at home – it keeps you organized, mobile, efficient and eliminates back-tracking or hunting for tools you need as you move from room to room.

As you move from the bathroom to the kitchen, you still have all the right attachments, brushes, cloths and tools at hand on your mobile work station. The cart protects your steamer from banging into things, too.

If you did not purchase the Cart, make sure to find some kind of container to keep your accessories, brushes and cleaning cloths together, protected and organized. It will be very frustrating if you have to search for (or dig for) your tools before you can use them.

Filling With Water

ALWAYS USE THE FILLER BOTTLE so you don’t soak the insulation or electronics. The filler bottle cap is spring loaded so it doesn’t drip until depressed.

Fill the filler bottle with hot tap water and replace its cap. Invert the bottle, place the tip in the tank and press down to release water. The tank holds 2 ½ quarts (2 ½ filler bottles full). You can’t overfill if you use the filler bottle. It stops flowing when the tank full.

Tap water is fine, don’t go to the expense of distilled water. The steamer “distills” the water for you.

Heating

• Fill tank with hot tap water as directed• Plug electrical cord (open back door) into grounded wall socket first• Press the top of both left and right power switches to heat• Green means Go. The light above the left switch will illuminate green

when fully heated. This light cycles on and off while you steam - watch for it at the beginning and ignore it while you steam

• Pressure gauge registers in the “Max” range when ready• It takes between 10-15 minutes to fully heat

6

Left Power Switch - supplies electricity to lights & hose switch

Right Power Switch - heats the boiler

Pressure gauge

Green Light glowing means you’re ready to go

Red Light glowing means you’re out of water

Hose/Iron Plug - lift door to insert hose/iron

Boiler tank cap

Re-Heating

You’ll know when you’re running out of water when• The steam pressure gets lighter• The pressure gauge needle starts to fall toward 0• The light above the right power switch glows

You don’t have to wait to refill. Just release the pressure as follows:• Turn off the right power switch (the one that heats the boiler)• Keep releasing steam out through the hose (or iron) until• The pressure gauge falls all the way to 0 and no more steam

Now you can safely remove the cap as follows:• Push down in the center of the cap where you see a red dot and• Wiggle the outside of the cap until you feel the cogs connect• Turn the cap counter clockwise while pushing down in the center

The cap has a pressure safety valve that prevents it from opening while machine is under pressure. To remove the cap from a hot machine (no longer under pressure) release this valve by pushing down in the center of the cap and twisting at the same time.

For your safety… the only way to release steam when machine is hot and under pressure is through the hose or iron. Cap is removable ONLY if machine is no longer under pressure (gauge at 0).

Once the cap has safely been removed, unplug the machine and repeat the filling with water and heating instructions. Reheating takes about 5-8 minutes. Be cautious when refiling a hot tank. You don’t want to get burned if the water bubbles up and out of the hot tank opening.

Storage

If you finish cleaning before your machine runs out of water, simply turn it off and put it away. Drain it when it’s cool to remove loose minerals (very important.) Alternately, it’s is OK to reheat water leftover from last session.

Start each session with a full, clean tank so you can clean longer before refilling. Empty water and minerals (when machine has cooled) if you will not be using your machine within a week.

FYI - Leftover cold water in the tank “crackles” as it heats - this sound is normal. A “hissing” sound is not normal - check cap or drain plug seals.

7

Mineral Flush

The stainless steel boiler tank is specially coated to prevent minerals from sticking. Minerals do, however, settle to the bottom and must be flushed out regularly as follows:• Make sure steamer is cool • Unplug from the wall socket (switches off first)• Use the filler bottle to add 2 quarts of water • Shake steamer to dislodge mineral deposits • Use the cap wrench to loosen the drain plug• Drain water and minerals into the sink• Replace the drain plug with the cap wrench

(Do not over tighten)

Never put anything but water in the tank! De-scaling chemicals are not necessary and will only damage the ink-alloy coating. Steam sanitizes and de-greases without chemicals so do not put soaps, oils, fragrances, detergents, etc. inside the tank. It voids your warranty.

Electrical Cord Use and Storage

• Lift back door and uncoil electrical cord• Fix the cord in its runners when in use• When storing, remove cord from runners so

the door will close• Plug into a grounded wall socket - avoid GFI

outlets if possible• Always turn machine off at switches before unplugging from socket• Grasp the plug to disconnect from socket. DO NOT yank the cord out

of the wall from a distance or at an angle. The ground plug is very solid, it will not bend. If you pull it out of the wall at an angle it will snap off. This repair is not covered under warranty

• Allow cord to wind naturally to avoid “pig tailing” • Start from the end attached to the steamer (not the free plug end)

when you gather the cord for the clamp or coil it for storage.• If your cord becomes worn or damaged, discontinue use and contact

our service center 1-800-SGT-STEA(M) • If an extension cord is necessary, use a heavy duty (14-gauge) cord

that is no longer than 15 feet. Any cord longer or lighter gauge won’t provide enough power for best results.

8

HoseTo attach the hose• Lift the front door flap• Hold the hose end red button side up• Insert hose straight into the opening until it clicks • To remove the hose, push the red button down

and pull out hoseSome people find it easier to insert the hose with the machine up on the counter. It’s easy to get the angle and leverage you need to make this a snap!

2 things to remember about cleaning with steam -

1. Distance controls the temperature • Back up 2-4 inches from surfaces that are not heat resistant• Touch heat-resistant surfaces directly to sanitize, degrease & disinfect• Remember - you must touch the surface to kill germs and sanitize• With direct contact, the steam kills germs in about 2 seconds

2. Switches control the pressure• Low steam - Push only the left

orange switch (one dot) forward. Use low to gently clean fragile, painted, varnished or delicate items like dried flowers

• Medium steam - Push only the r ight red switch (two dots) forward. Use medium for most jobs to maintain steady pressure

• High steam - Push both switches forward for quick bursts only - do not clean on high all the time - you’ll just lose pressure, run out of water more often and have a lot more moisture to absorb. In this case, more is not necessarily better

• Configure the switch(s) to desired pressure • Hold the trigger down to release steam

DO NOT stretch your hose or pull your machine by the hose, especially when it’s hot and pliable. Repair for a separated hose is not covered under warranty.

9

Iron (optional accessory)

• Fill the steamer base with water and heat it as previously directed.

• Lift the plug door and Insert the iron in the plug until it clicks into place.

• When the iron is plugged into the machine the gold light bar on the iron

glows and the sole plate begins to heat.

• Make sure it is sitting on the heat resistant pad during heat up to avoid

scorching your ironing board.

• Set the dial under the iron handle to the desired fabric setting. Match

your desired setting to the peg toward the back of the iron (not toward

the point like other irons you may have used.)

• Low is for silk and synthetic fibers

• Medium is for rayon and wool

• High is for cotton and linen

• There are three steam pressure settings

• Press the button on the left side of the handle

for low steam

• Press the button on the top of the handle for

medium steam

• Press the button on the right side of the handle for high steam

Ironing Techniques• For better, faster results use slow, even strokes rather than fast random

wiggling.

• To iron trousers, lay one leg on top of the other matching up the crease edges. Make a slow stroke up with steam

and a slow stroke back down without steam. You’ll press through all 4 layers and set the creases at the same time.

• Raise the trousers up off the board and steam the pleats, zipper and back

• Many garments and fabric window treatments can be steamed vertically

10

Extension Wands• The BRZ2 comes with 2 wands but you can use up to 4. Order

extra wands if you need them.

• We call them “magic wands” because they keep you up off your hands and knees and off of ladders.

• Adding a wand between the hose an the attachment gives you greater range of motion and more leverage.

• You’ll clean more efficiently and more comfortably.

• The red locking ring opens to the left and closes to the right - Remember - lefty-loosy, righty-tighty.

SqueegeeWindows, mirrors, glass tables, shower doors are steam cleaned without the smudges and streaks caused by that oily blue window cleaner stuff.

• Insert the squeegee (bristle side forward) right into the hose for small mirrors/windows.

• Add an extension for larger areas to get leverage and a greater range of motion.

• Steam the glass clean of fingerprints,

weather, doggy nose art, fly tracks, hairspray, makeup, toothpaste...whatever it is that’s mucking up the glass. (hard

water minerals need Tub N Tile the first time)

• Swivel the brush (do not flip the whole hose over) to the squeegee blade side and squeegee the glass dry.

• Use a Microfiber glass cloth to pick up the last bit of moisture.

• You won’t need to re-wipe the whole window/mirror with the

microfiber cloth - the water left on the glass has no minerals (they got left in the tank) so you won’t see water spots as it evaporates.

• In winter months when windows are very cold, pre-heat from a

distance before touching steam directly to glass.

• Watch the window video here www.sargentsteam.com/windows/

• You can also remove the squeegee blade and use the soft bristles on really dirty leather or vinyl couches/chairs/car seats and the inside of kitchen drawers. Wipe away dirt and moisture.

11

Rectangle BrushFor floors, walls, ceilings, big countertops, big appliances, any large area.

• Use extension(s) so you can stay off your knees and off ladders.

• Lock off the swivel when you don’t need it.

• In a 2-step process, use the powerful bristles uncovered to scrub textured sur faces like

linoleum, tile, cement. Then cover the brush with a towel to pick up the moisture and dirt.

• In a 1-step process, cover the brush bristles with

the cover and a cloth. Lay one of our white terry towels flat, fold it 1/3 down from the top, place the

rectangle brush in the center, bring the corners into the 4 clips, don’t worry about tucking in the short ends.

• Once the brush is covered with a cloth, the pressure stops at the cloth so use low or medium

setting. Save high for quick blasts without a cloth.• Insert a Power Pad before covering with a cloth to

fill in the space between the bristles and get better

surface coverage. (see more info page 22)• Stroke both directions on carpets and rugs to

remove dirt and stains. Use Stain Shocker to pre-spot carpets and textiles - change the cloth as it gets dirty - don’t just move dirt from one surface to

another or cross contaminate.• Use both a terry cloth and a microfiber cloth when

steaming hardwood floors (oil-based varnish only) and on shiny tile or marble to safely clean, dry, shine, buff and polish in one motion.

• Move rapidly and use low steam pressure setting when steaming varnished floors and cabinets and

painted or wallpapered walls.• Kill dust mites, allergens and bed bugs on

mattresses, bedding, upholstery, etc.

12

Diamond Brush• Use extensions where it makes sense to extend your

reach and give you greater range of motion • Lock off the elbow swivel when steaming vertically so

the brush doesn’t flip and shoot steam toward you

• Press the button on the point and swivel the elbow a quarter turn to use the flat edge.

• In a 2-step process, use the powerful bristles uncovered to scrub textured surfaces like linoleum, tile, cement. Then use a towel to pick up the

moisture and dirt. • In a 1-step process, cover the brush with the

elasticized fitted cloth or use a flat cloth tucked into the center clamps.

• Insert a Power Pad before covering with a cloth to fill

in space between the bristles and get better surface coverage (see more info on page 22)

• Swivel the diamond brush upside down and add extension(s) for ceiling fan blades, high ledges and above cabinets and refrigerators.

Now you can easily clean and sanitize: • Counter tops, cutting boards, cabinets, drawers inside and out• Appliance fronts, inside the refrigerator and microwave

• Window screens while still in the window, window blinds• Sinks, tubs, showers, shower curtains and shower doors

• Upholstered and leather couches and chairs, dining tables• Patio furniture• Car - headliner, upholstery, floor mats/carpeting, dash

• Ceiling fan blades, shelves, ledges, crown molding, baseboards• Stairs, steps and handrails

• Tailored jackets and trousers to extend wear between dry cleaning• Leather coats - check for colorfastness and move rapidly• Behind the toilet - add extensions

13

Detail BrushesUse a 1” or 2” detail brush to add more abrasive

power when cleaning heat-resistant and scratch resistant surfaces. Choose whichever size best fits the item you’re steaming.

But Remember: let the machine do the work! You’ve just picked up a steam cleaner, not a scrub brush so do not push and scrub hard. The tips of the bristles are much more effective than the sides - you’ll only smash the bristles and

shorten the life of the brush. It will also take longer to get the job done as frantic scrubbing back and forth does not concentrate the heat and

moisture in one spot. Slow down on heat-resistant items. Move a bit more rapidly on paint, varnish, wallpaper, etc.

In a 2-step process, use the powerful bristles uncovered to scrub textured surfaces. Then use a towel to pick up the moisture and dirt. In a 1-step

process, cover the brush with a cloth and pick up the dirt as you loosen it.

On really dirty or textured surfaces like tile grout, apply a little bar soap to

the bristles to speed things up a bit.

Use the 1” or 2” soft horsehair bristle brushes on less scratch-resistant surfaces to gently abrade dirt and debris.• Sinks, toilets, vanities, chrome faucets, mirrors

with hairspray or toothpaste, • Refrigerator shelves, doors and gaskets

• Sports gear - soccer/basket/golf balls, hockey/soccer/football pads

• Golf clubs/shoes/bags

• Camp coolers, • High chairs, strollers, carseats, wheel chairs

• Tennis shoes, boots, sandals/flip flops (add bar soap• Car leather or vinyl upholstery, dashboards, cup holders, AC vents,

seat belts, steering wheels, gear shifts, gas/brake pedals, doors and

armrests, carpet/floor mats stains

14

Detail Brushes (continued)Use the 1” or 2” stiff nylon bristle brushes on more scratch-resistant surfaces

• Grout, fireplace bricks, rock, stucco (add bar soap)• Stainless steel barbecue grills, ovens, stovetops,

(add a scrub bud)

• Tires, wheels, rims, (add bar soap)• Carpet spots (cover with a cloth and don’t work the

spot too long so you don’t fuzz the carpet fibers.)

Use the 1” stainless steel bristle brush on very scratch-

resistant surfaces only. These bristles are very sharp cut steel. They will be hot after use so wrap with a towel and use

caution when inserting and removing them from the nozzle. • Graffiti removal, paint spills, paint overspray on brick,

brick mortar, cement, stone, etc.

• Cast Iron grills, griddles, pots and pans (recondition to prevent rust)• Gas stove grates, oven racks, barbecue racks

• Tile grout removal (use extreme caution if cleaning tile grout)

Add a Scrub Bud to any brush for extra abrasive power.

The steel fibers are wound rather than cut so they are less likely to scratch but use caution anyway. Use them to

• Scrub potatoes/carrots/root veggies

• Pots and pans

• Stoves, ovens, barbecues

The 2” stainless steel brush is an optional accessory. Recommend Sargent

Steam and the 2” stainless brush to any restaurant owners you know - they’ll thank you for it!• Restaurant kitchen griddles, grills

• French fryer areas• Greasy floor tiles, etc.

• Cook top exhaust bonnets/fans• Graffiti removalDo not use a stainless steel brush or Scrub Bud on white surfaces like

porcelain sinks, tubs or toilets - the stainless leaves a gray carbon mark.

15

Order replacements www.sargentsteam.com/store/ or call 1-800-SGT-STEA(M)

NozzleHeat and pressure are concentrated and pinpointed with the nozzle. At

the tip, it’s extremely hot so touch surfaces directly only if they are heat resistant. Remember, to sanitize the tip must touch the surface.

Use the jet of steam to blast dirt and grime from tight spaces, then wipe up dirt and moisture with a towel.

• Window tracks, door tracks, heating vents• Toilet handles, toilet seat hinges and turn the nozzle upside

down to reach up under the rim. You may bury the nozzle in

water to within 2 inches of the hose handle (do not get the hose switches wet)

• Steam where the toilet meets the floor to blast debris out and kill bacteria that causes odor - use a sideways angle and move quickly so you don’t melt the wax ring/caulking

• Stoves, small appliances, refrigerator gaskets and to defrost freezers• Car cup holders, vents and upholstery piping

• Remove spilled candle wax, gum, tar and sticker residue (turn the nozzle upside down - blast melted wax/gum/tar into a paper towel)

• Thaw frozen plumbing pipes, melt icicles, thaw icy stairs

• Faucet, garbage disposal, edge where the sink meets the counter top• Sanitize toothbrushes, makeup brushes, hairbrushes and combs

• Jewelry - watch bands, rings etc.• Remove indentations in carpeting where furniture has been moved• Lift carpet stains - insert nozzle upside down to bring the stain up first

Use the spray from a distance and wipe method (or spray a microfiber

cloth with steam) on items that are not heat or moisture resistant:• Candles• Thin vinyl blinds

• Picture frames, books - (Do not steam photographs)• Electronics, TV’s, LCD panels, phones, cell phones, iPads, etc.

• Dried floral arrangements, live plants• Jewelry with soft stones like opals and pearls• Soft leather shoes, boots and handbags

Consider buying a second nozzle and 2” brush as a “toilet kit” - you won’t have to sanitize the one that’s been in the toilet before you clean the sink.

16

Turbo Nozzle (optional accessory)

The turbo nozzle is straighter and narrower for areas where you don’t want the angle at the tip. You can use it bare or attach brushes or Power Pads to the tip. It gives you a straight shot at tight

areas:• Between and under the seats in the car

• Between cabinets and appliances• Straight into the bottom of a trash can• Straight at the back of the oven wall

• Straight up into a bathroom ceiling vent• The coils under refrigerators

Plumber’s Helper (optional accessory)

This optional accessory helps keep sink and tub drains clean and clear. The rubber gasket forms a tight seal on the drain openings and the heat/

pressure force a clog on down the drain.

Cover the spillway with a cloth so the pressure can

build and the steam does not rise up into your face. Place the Plumber’s Helper over the drain

opening and steam on high 15-20 seconds. Repeat if necessary. Run clear water through the newly cleaned drain.

Clean the drain each time you clean the sink/tub and save a bunch of

money. No messy plumbing snakes. No more slow/clogged drains that require harsh nasty chemicals or an expensive visit from your friendly neighborhood plumber.

Use caution on P-traps made of thin PVC pipe - limit exposure to 10 seconds at intervals - they may warp in the heat. Galvanized, thick PVC and copper pipes can take unlimited exposure.

Mention Sargent Steam Plumber’s Helper to your hairdresser... their drains get clogged every week! You can both earn a referral reward/discount!

Mystaire (optional accessory)

Aromatherapy Follow your nose to improve your health, well being and indoor air quality. Refresh your environment with an enticing fragrance.

Humidifying Add gentle much-needed moisture to your skin and hair. Feel the benefits in your lungs and sinuses.

Personal Sauna Pamper yourself with a sauna or facial in the privacy of your own home. It’s like owning your own day spa!

You can use any fragrance, essential oil, perfume or aromatherapy product you like. Medicinal essential oils are amazing in their ability to heal. Such as menthol or eucalyptus if you feel like you’re catching a cold to open your lungs and sinuses. Scents are personal so use whatever smells good to you. • Heat your machine as directed• Lift the front door flap at the base (where the hose inserts)• Leave the Mystaire bent at the elbow (collapsed) while inserting• Insert the Mystaire into the front door until it clicks into place• Extend the Mystaire at the elbow and secure with the bracket at the

desired angle - pointing low, straight out, or up high• Twist the lid off the top exposing the well• If you choose to create aromatherapy, dap a drop

or two of your chosen fragrance on a cotton ball and place it in the well. (For plain steam humidifying, skip this step)

• Close the lid gently• Swivel the head to desired angle• Flip on the Mystaire power switch• A fine mist of steam will pass through the scented

cotton ball and fill your room with fragrance and humidityWhen you’ve finished cleaning with your steamer, use any left over water in the tank through your Mystaire.

Microfiber Products (optional accessory)

Microfiber cloths, mops, towels and dusters are the perfect companion to your BRZ2 Steam Cleaner. Use them wet or dry to clean, dry, polish, and put shine on almost every surface you own. Sargent Steam Microfiber Cloths are thirsty cloths that pick up germs, bacteria, dust, dirt and moisture like no other! The technical reason - Microfibers are a 20/80 blend of wedge shaped polyester and polyamide wound into superfine strands around a nylon core.

Don’t be fooled by cheap knock-offs or the high-priced the impostors. Ours are designed to remove germs by trapping them in their V-shaped fibers. It’s like using millions of little squeegees that scrape germs, bacteria, dirt and moisture off your surfaces leaving whatever you wipe germ-free, dirt-free, lint-free, clean and shiny.

Our high quality Microfibers can hold up to seven times their weight in water so they leave no moisture behind each swipe. All our microfiber products are reusable and very earth friendly. They work best with steam or plain old tap water so you’ll save big dollars on paper towels and cleaning chemicals. Laundering is simple and with a little care, they will last through 1,000’s of washings. Wash in the washing machine or by hand with hot soapy water and rinse well. The hot water opens up the fibers and releases the dirt and germs collected. Dry them in the dryer on low or hang them to dry.

• Do not use fabric softener of any kind• Do not use bleach• Do not wash with cotton products• Do not iron

Fabric softeners (including dryer sheets) make them less absorbent and less effective. The oily chemicals clog the microfibers. Bleach corrodes the polyamide fibers, melts the nylon core, and closes the gap you want open to collect germs, bacteria, dirt and moisture.

Do not wash with cotton items (jeans or towels.) The microfiber grabs lint. If they’re still holding lint, they won’t pick up as much dust, germs, bacteria, dirt and moisture.

Power Pads (optional accessory)

The optional nylon Power Pads offer varying degrees of abrasiveness to provide the “grit” you used to get from scouring powder chemicals.

Power Pads come in 3 shapes:

• Square - press square Power Pads against the Power Pad disk and insert disk onto the nozzle. These are great for smaller, more concentrated areas. The friction pad

on the disk keeps the power pad in place. If the disk becomes full of fibers, scrape out with a bent paperclip.

• Diamond - insert a Power Pad in between the bristles - this takes up the open space and gives you more surface coverage. Use bare (secured

with a rubber band) for deep scrubbing or insert the Power pad and cover with a cloth for 1-step

steaming/wiping.• Without a cloth on showers, shower doors, tubs, • With a cloth on counter tops, blinds, car interiors, cabinets,

appliance fronts, etc.• Rectangle - insert and secure the same as Diamond

• Without cloth- pitted, textured flooring-linoleum, Travertine, cement, stone, natural tile, brick

• With a cloth on big counter tops, walls, ceilings,

mattresses

Power Pads come in 5 colors = 5 degrees of abrasiveness. The lighter the color, the more gentle. As they get darker, they get more abrasive. Be sure to use the appropriate texture on each surface. You don’t want to

scratch as you clean a delicate surface.• White - is gentle on glass, mirrors and chrome faucets

• Red - will clean marble, granite, porcelain sinks/toilets and fiberglass• Blue - scrubs formica, textured plastics, stainless sinks• Green - to de-calcify showers, tubs and tile

• Black - for burnt on spills in ovens and barbecues

Stain Shocker (optional enhancer)

Stain Shocker is a pre-spotter that works fast on textile stains. Spray Stain Shocker directly on really dirty carpeting or upholstery before you steam to speed up the process. Or spray the cloth with Stain Shocker then steam

the dirty surface.

Mix a half capful of Stain Shocker crystals in the 2 quart squirt bottle filled with warm water. Shake to dissolve the crystals. Once mixed, the

solution is always ready to use - no further mixing or shaking needed.

• Made from sodium bicarbonate and all natural ingredients

• Non toxic

• Bio-degradable• No harsh chemicals

• Needs no rinsing • Safe for colors - no bleach• Protein lifter

Use safely on

• Carpeting and area rugs• Cars - the seats, floor mats, carpets and headliners• Upholstery - cloth couches, chairs (no velvet)

• Mattresses, pillows, sleeping bags• Laundry stains

• Light mineral buildup/water spots• Pet stains • Protein and bodily fluid spills - milk, blood, urine, etc.

Make a paste with a capful of Stain Shocker crystals and a tablespoon of

warm water then apply to a really tough laundry stain. Let is pre-soak before laundering.

That Orange Stuff(optional enhancer)

That Orange Stuff is a mineral problem solver. Since steam alone cannot melt through a mineral, we’ve formulated this slightly grainy paste made from orange oil and silica flour. It helps dissolve hard water spots, rust, silver

or brass tarnish. Use it in place of harsh products like Ajax or Comet scouring powder/cleansers made with bleach.

Since That Orange Stuff has a very slight amount of grit, use on scratch resistant surfaces or with a very

light touch.

• Made from all natural ingredients• Non toxic• Bio-degradable

• No harsh chemicals• Safe for colors - no bleach

• Safe on porcelain, fiberglass, chrome• Test on plastics in an inconspicuous area first

A little bit goes a long way so use a small amount. Especially when you add steam which intensifies That Orange Stuff’s effectiveness. Mineral

buildup is often layered with other stuff like soap/shampoo/conditioner film or grease/grime. These problems go on in layers and may come off a layer at a time so repeat the process if necessary. Once the mineral

buildup is removed with That Orange Stuff and steam, it will be easier to keep it off with steam alone.

Apply directly to surface or squirt a dime size amount onto a Power Pad and (with low steam so you don’t just blast it away) steam away mineral

build up from:

• Bathroom/kitchen sink fixtures, faucets, chrome• Shower doors, tubs, sinks• Toilets

• Windows where a sprinkler hits the glass (rub very gently)

24

Tub N Tile (optional enhancer)

Tub N Tile is also a mineral problem solver - turned up a notch from That Orange Stuff. If That Orange Stuff did not melt through your mineral problem fast enough, use Tub N Tile to speed up the process. Use it in

place of harsh products like Tilex or cleansers made with bleach, ammonia, acid or lye.

• Made from all natural ingredients including orange oil and sugar cane

• Non toxic• Bio-degradable

• No harsh chemicals• Safe for colors - no bleach• Not recommended for natural stone

• Test first on chrome/metal shower door frames/tracks and chrome faucets

• Concentrated so you use very little

Dilute 6 parts water to 1 part Tub N Tile concentrate in the foaming sprayer

bottle. Spray brush or Power Pad rather than directly onto surface to avoid drips, streaks, and sticky overspray. No pre-spraying needed - Do

not let Tub N TlIe dry on the surface. Use low steam pressure so you don’t just blast it out of the way.

Tub N Tile has a distinct fragrance - especially when you steam with it. If it bothers you, cover your mouth and nose during use. This aroma is not

toxic and will not burn your lungs like bleach or ammonia.

25

NOTE : Do Not use Stain Shocker, That Orange Stuff or Tub N Tile on problems steam will handle alone - you’ll just waste product. Steam

alone will kill mold, germs, bacteria, odors, remove grease and grime - no additives necessary. It will take a new habit to reach for steam instead of a cleaning chemical but the sooner you break this habit, the

less money you’ll waste and the better you’ll feel. You’ll also save time, effort and get stuff cleaner - way cleaner!
