We would like to begin by invitingyou to the third chapter of“Diamonds & Spurs”, but before wesay too much, we would also like to thank all ofyou that made last year a success. With theawesome enthusiasm and exciting interest inSimmental and Angus genetics, we look forward to entertaining andshowing you this impressive chapter. On April 16th, we will present toyou what we feel is the best set of Simmental influenced cattle youwill find in terms of both quality and quantity in one location. Manymiles can be saved by this one stop.

At OBCC, we have always maintained the same philosophies andgoals but due to industry demands we have changed our cattle overthe years to fit the desired traits we felt most applicable. There isn’t abetter time to be in the cattle business, let alone the Simmentalbusiness, because the beef industry has realized how versatile thesecattle are creating an awesome amount of interest. Many breedsmight like to place this fact on the challenges found within theirbreeds but truth of the matter is, Simmental breeders rose to thechallenge and have done what the industry needed and that’s“change”. Even though that’s a word I would like to use lightly, Iwould like to quote Grant Turner because he described this wordperfectly, as “Change is changing the way that change changes andnow you want to change it?” Although that was said in a comicalmanner it’s a true statement that we as breeders have to accept.Progressive Simmental cattle are constantly changing for yourbenefit to be more fitting in the fast paced world we live in.

We would like to thank our guest breeders: Anvil Acres, AlbusCattle Co., Golden Oak Simmentals, Moser Ranch, and Shoal CreekSimmentals for joining us again this year to help complete the“Diamonds and Spurs”. Also we would like to welcome Double RSimmentals for their additions to the sale this year. Without thesepeople listed above, we wouldn’t be able to have this event everyyear, which allows us to help our customers, enjoy our cattle anddeal with our off the farm demands throughout the rest of the year.We would like to thank all of our past and present customers andsupporters as we look forward to doing business with you as well asnew ones to come.
