Welcome to Coogee Oval. We are excited to see our teams finally playing this weekend for competition points. Our Randwick men started their preseason training five months ago. Back in my playing days this was the most exciting part of the season. All the hard work for months finally coming to fruition.

We welcome Gordon today to picturesque Coogee Oval and look forward to a great afternoon of rugby. We also celebrate the life of three great Randwick men. Sir Nicholas Shehadie, Ken Catchpole and Peter Johnson were three of Randwick’s greats and we welcome their team-mates, family and friends to one of their favourite locations.

Thanks goes to all our volunteers and officials that have assisted our young men over the preseason. We have so many wonderful supporters who are passionate about our young men, our teams and this great Club.

Randwick is also very proud of the performance of our Australian 7s representatives. This weekend Dylan Pietsch, Sam Croke, Lockie Miller, Sam Figg, Triston Reilly and Harrison Goddard will all be in action during the Hong Kong 7s.

In coming weeks Ben O’Donnell will also be representing his country at the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast. Good luck to all these players and I am sure they will do their club and themselves proud.
