650 MW Natural Gas Combined-Cycle Power Generator

Dogwood Energy Facility (“Dogwood”) is a 650-MW natural gas-fired, combined-cycle electric generatingfacility. Dogwood is located in CassCounty, Missouri, near the town ofPleasant Hill and is located within KCPLGMO’s retail service territory in Missouriin the northern region of the SouthwestPower Pool. Construction of the Facilitywas performed by Black and Veatch andwas completed in 2002. The Facilityoperates in full compliance with itsenvironmental and regulatory permitsand achieves ultra-low emissions of NOxand SO2 through the use of clean naturalgas fuel and selective catalytic reduction(“SCR”) control technology on each unit.Dogwood has received no notices ofenvironmental noncompliance since it began commercial operations. TheFacility employs a staff of 24 people,including operators, maintenance staffand plant management. NAESCorporation—a world-class power plantoperator—operates the Facility on acontract basis.

OVERVIEWOVERVIEW

Dogwood consists of one power train in a 2x1 configuration with SiemensWestinghouse 501F D2 Gas Turbines, Toshiba HRSGs and one Toshiba steamturbine generator. The Facility can be,and often is, cycled on and off on adaily basis. Dogwood can dispatch inboth 2x1 and 1x1 modes and augmentits output with duct firing and steaminjection.
