Dogwood Energy Facility Pleasant Hill, Missouri 650 MW Natural Gas Combined-Cycle Power Generator Dogwood Energy Facility (“Dogwood”) is a 650-MW natural gas-fired, combined-cycle electric generating facility. Dogwood is located in Cass County, Missouri, near the town of Pleasant Hill and is located within KCPL GMO’s retail service territory in Missouri in the northern region of the Southwest Power Pool. Construction of the Facility was performed by Black and Veatch and was completed in 2002. The Facility operates in full compliance with its environmental and regulatory permits and achieves ultra-low emissions of NOx and SO2 through the use of clean natural gas fuel and selective catalytic reduction (“SCR”) control technology on each unit. Dogwood has received no notices of environmental noncompliance since it began commercial operations. The Facility employs a staff of 24 people, including operators, maintenance staff and plant management. NAES Corporation—a world-class power plant operator—operates the Facility on a contract basis. OVERVIEW OVERVIEW Dogwood consists of one power train in a 2x1 configuration with Siemens Westinghouse 501F D2 Gas Turbines, Toshiba HRSGs and one Toshiba steam turbine generator. The Facility can be, and often is, cycled on and off on a daily basis. Dogwood can dispatch in both 2x1 and 1x1 modes and augment its output with duct firing and steam injection.
