The long-term vision for the development of the region’s transport

developing an international integrated intermodal transport and logistics system that contributes to long-term objective of regional cooperation in support of sustainable development

• The system combines the advantages of each mode of

transport to achieve the balanced integration of

economic, social and environmental benefits.

• Comprehensive, holistic and integrated approach is

needed to develop the system.

• Comprehensive and integrated strategy to incorporate

and coordinate different elements of the system for

accomplishing the common goal of sustainable

development.

• Each element contributes to the whole system and bears

the requirements of other elements and sustainable

development.

Transport Operators and Logistics Service Providers.

The event is an enabling platform for logistics service providers in Asia and the

Pacific to share knowledge and experience, discuss emerging issues and

promote the development of their services.

The event is organized in conjunction with the FIATA Region Asia-Pacific

(RAP) Field Meeting.

Logistics Information Systems

• Public platforms that allow for harmonization and simplification of the information

exchanged between and among transport and logistics service providers, relevant

government agencies and private stakeholders; both national and transnational level;

• The study report includes national experiences, recommended data and other technical

standards and general recommendations for the development of logistics information

systems including the “Standard Model of Logistics Information Systems” (talks about

recommended architecture and functions, and outline the recommended international data/technical standards that can

be referred to).
