Overview• Responsibilities
The office of IT Acquisition Strategy and Facilities Management responsibilities are to ensure that the OIT CIO’s vision of Strategic Partnership between OIT and Industry is realized through:
• Liaison with internal/external customer interface• Program Management Oversight• Vendor Management• Federal Strategic Sourcing• Facilitator for IT CFO• Interpretation of acquisition policies and procedures• OIT’s Small Business Representative for all socioeconomic categories

Acquisitions and Contractual Authority
Acquisitions and contractual commitments can only be made by Government officials having expressed authority to enter into such agreements on behalf of the United States Government. The ONLY Government officials with such authority are Warranted Contracting Officials. Any discussions of contractual requirements do not constitute contractual direction or authorization of any kind. Future contractual directions, If ANY, shall ONLY come from the cognizant Department of Veterans Affairs Warranted Contracting Officer.

Goals
• Goal 1 – Economic Efficiency: Identify opportunities that may reduce IT related costs by establishing criteria for identifying wasteful and duplicative investments. Leverage and consolidate individual and multiple agreements to improve pricing and increase efficiencies by employing current technology and best business practices.
• Goal 2 – Strategic Oversight and Management: Review industry best practices and select/implement those that align with OI&T’s stated strategic goals. Track, monitor, and report status of on/off boarding of OI&T contractors.

• Goal 3 – Strategic Partnering: Serve as the “Front Door” to facilitate meetings and communications between vendors and appropriate OI&T stakeholders. Participate in vendor/government sponsored events which focus on future products and services, industry trends, and vendor strategic direction. Collaborate with the agency procurement/contracting offices to facilitate resolution of escalated vendor‐related issues. Keep apprised of projects and initiatives involving OI&T vendors. Ensure that vendor capabilities are aligned and synchronized with OI&T strategic goals and initiatives.
• Goal 4 – Vendor Trending: Monitor and report vendor trends to ensure executive management awareness of Red Flags, TechStatmeeting, and other key metrics compared to industry trends.
