Hello and welcome to what we all hope to be a glorious
summer here at Overslade house. We have yet, another
busy few weeks / months coming up and I am sure you
would enjoy the singing and fun activities that we have
planned.
And of course we have our activities boards to keep an eye
of what is happening in & out of the home.
We strive to provide a home environment that enables our
residents to enjoy a happy and fulfilling life, surrounded
by compassionate, caring staff who take a genuine interest
in the daily lives of our residents.
Like any extended family, the involvement and
participation of everyone is crucial to our objectives and
part of this process is receiving suggestions, comments-
good or bad and feedback on how we are doing or what we
should be doing. The management team has an open door
policy at all times so drop by my office use my email
address, whenever you have a thought or two.

Hello and Welcome!
News in and around Overslade
African Drumming Mary comes in on a regular basis and
brings different activities to our residents. This month she brought in her African
drums for everyone to participate it. The residents loved singing along to the
songs and playing the drums.
Dementia Awareness
Back in May Overslade celebrated
Dementia Awareness week by supporting the Alzheimer’s
Campaign. We looked at past photos of our residents in their
younger years as well as learning about their fascinating lives.
Scone Baking
Continuing we have our weekly baking sessi0on. Here you can see Dorothy and Betty baking some scones. The scones where then given out to our residents to
enjoy with some jam and cream.
Trips Out at Overslade
We try and have a trip out every week at Overslade. This time we went to Blooms to look around the garden centre and finish off
with lunch in the coffee shop and a bit of retail shopping.
It was our resident’s choice to visit the Denbigh Arms for a couple
drinks and some lunch together for the afternoon.
Everyone enjoyed being out in the sun with each other.

Barchester Care Awards Thank you to everyone who nominated a team member for the 2019 Barchester Care Awards. Nominations are now closed, but we are delighted to announce that we received 1890 in total. The judges now have the difficult task of choosing the divisional winners, and each of them will be invited to a special celebratory lunch and awards ceremony at The Midland Hotel in Manchester on 3rd October, where the national winners will be revealed.
