Jimmy Littleton, who served as head coach of the Aggies for the 2016-17 season, resigned after one year with the school dis- trict, Poteet athletic direc- tor Doug Foster confirmed. “[Littleton] didn’t want to be here, so that’s it,” Foster said. Littleton did not return multiple calls seeking comment. The Aggies tied for third place in District 30-4A this season before falling to Crystal City 79-48 in the bi-district playoffs. Littleton, who has coached a majority of his career in San Antonio, picked up his 500th coach- ing win in December. Pitcher Bailey Longoria was named the District 26-3A MVP. Center fielder Kristina Ramirez shared Offensive MVP honors, and shortstop Claudia Muñoz shared the district’s Defen- sive MVP award. Jourdanton had seven others make the all-district first team: Allie Touch- stone, Laney Harlan, Rachel Schnelle, Emily Ponton, Lexi Wheeler, Karen Carrasco and Allie Wheeler. Squaws senior Shelys Miranda was second team all-district. Miranda, Ponton and Ramirez were also named academic all-state by the Texas High School Coaches Association. Ponton and Ramirez also earned Texas Girls Coaches Association academic all-state honors. Pleasanton had three players on the All-District 30-4A first team. Domi- nique Owen (first base- man), Messiah San Miguel (outfielder) and Brenda Leal (designated player) were each first-team selections. Pitcher Madison McDonald, second baseman Kaye Hu- bert, third baseman Jessy Ortiz and designated player Jaden Alcoser made the all- district second team. For the Lady Aggies, Dan- ika De La Fuente and Emily Zavala earned second-team honors. Lady Eagles Chloe Bryant and Laney Esquivel were honorable mention picks. Jimmy Littleton, who served as head coach of the Aggies for the 2016-17 season, resigned after one year with the school dis-trict, Poteet athletic direc-tor Doug Foster confirmed.

“[Littleton] didn’t want to be here, so that’s it,” Foster said.

Littleton did not return multiple calls seeking comment.
