Get precise outside measurements. Micrometers have a spindle lock to secure spindle at the desired reading. Thimble and sleeve are stainless steel with a satin finish; spindle and anvil faces are carbide. Spindle and anvil are 0.2500 dia. Micrometers have a rotating spindle. Include plastic case. Micrometers that measure 20 and higher also include a measuring rod. Certificates of calibration are traceable to NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology).

Series 101—Frames are steel with a satin chrome finish. Series 103—Frames are cast iron with an enamel finish. Micrometer Sets—Include series 103 micrometers with ratchet-stop

thimble, except 0-20 range micrometers, which have a friction thimble.

Reversible thimble sleeves convert these micrometers from plain thimble to friction thimble (unless noted). All mi-crometers have a spindle lock to secure spindle at desired reading, a rotating spindle, and a measuring rod. Frame, thimble, and sleeve are cast metal with a satin chrome finish (unless noted). Spindle is stainless steel; spindle and anvil faces are carbide. The spindle and the anvil are 0.2500 dia. 2053A4 and A1 have decimal equivalents printed on the frame. 2053A1 also has slanted graduations that remain visible through a complete revolution of the thimble.

Precise outside measurements couldn’t be easier. All micrometers have a spindle lock to secure spindle at desired reading and a rotating spindle. They’re steel with a chrome finish on the thimble and sleeve. Spindle and anvil are 0.2500 dia. (unless noted) and have carbide faces. Accuracy of micrometers graduated in 0.0010 increments is ±0.00010; in 0.00010 increments is ±0.000050; in 0.01 mm and 0.001 mm incre-ments is ±0.002 mm. Furnished in a plastic case (unless noted). Other cases are sold separately on page 2259.

Certificates of calibration are traceable to NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology).

Micrometers with “RL” in the Starrett No. have a ratchet-stop thim-ble; “FL”designates a friction thimble. To Order : When given a choice for the Starrett No., please specify thimble type: ratchet stop (“RL”) or friction (“FL”).

Series 436—Frame has enamel finish and ribbed edges for strength. 10 ratchet-stop thimble micrometers have decimal equivalents printed on thimble.

Also Available : Starrett No. T436XRL micrometers with ranges up to 120. All have a cast iron frame, a 0.3000 dia. carbide spindle and anvil, and 0.00010 graduations. Do not include case. To Order : Please ask for 2044A8 and specify range: 6-70, 7-80, 8-90, 9-100, 10-110, or 11-120.

Series 230—Frame has a satin chrome finish. The 0-10 micrometers have decimal equivalents on frame.
