The NEAR® IGS10 Subwoofer is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for 5 (five) years from thedate of sale to the original purchaser. The NEAR™ IGS10 Subwoofer provides the highest fidelity and easiest installation ofany outdoor subwoofer available today. With an extraordinarly flexible wiring scheme,you can enjoy your music any way you want. A dual-voice coil woofer allows for inde-pendent left and right stereo channels to be used. Or, the voice coils can be wired inparallel and the subwoofer can be used with a mono input for using multiple subwoofers.There is even a 128W / 70V line transformer included for those applications requiringmany loudspeakers for coverage. The very latest in outdoor sound technology isincluded in the IGS10 woofer: UDIO. This unique design combines the proven MetalDiaphragm Technology (MDT) with a dome-shaped diaphragm instead of the tradit-ional cone shape; and a new voice coil design with windings on the outside as wellas the inside of the aluminum former. Many performance advantages, such as low-distortion and deep, ground rattling bass, are the result of NEAR’s long track recordof leading the industry when performance and durability are needed.
Dispersion of the IGS10 is a full 360 degrees! This means that the orientation of thesubwoofer, whether mounted in-ground or on-ground, is not critical. However, bydesign, the frequency response is smoother and better defined when the enclosure ismounted in the ground. This mounting method also ensures a high level of securityonce the ground around the enclosure is packed firmly. In addition, as the ground packsmore firmly around the subwoofer enclosure, the bass and mid-range clarity improves.This is due to a reduction in the resonance of the molded enclosure which, by virtue ofits round shape with extensive ribbing, is already quite inert. The addition of the solidearth around the enclosure, in essence, makes the walls more solid, less resonant, andless of a factor in any coloration of the sound.
The vents on each side of the subwoofer’s enclosure are accurately tuned to deliversolid, well-defined bass. Entry into the enclosure by insects, small animals, or debris isprevented by perforated aluminum screens within the vents. However water may enterthrough these vents, but is not a cause of concern. The 10-inch UDIO woofer is designedto allow water to roll right off the surface and back out the vents so you can keep onlistening even in the rain, or when the sprinklers are running!

Direct Burial of Cable or Conduit

Depending on the type of installation,direct burial of speaker cables fromthe amplifier to the subwoofer may beadequate, or the use of a 1” to 1-1/2” IDconduit may be required for protectingwires from possible physical damageif future excavation or other alterationsare anticipated in the area of the install.The IGS10 can accommodate eithermethod, including the entry andexit conduits sliding convenientlyunder the bottom of the enclosuresthrough provided wiring/conduitchannels.
Direct Burial of Cable or Conduit
• Solder connection wires together and use waterproof heat shrink tubing to seal.
• Using Grease Wire Caps, which are available from several suppliers (Orbit, Toro Irrigation, etc.).
• RECOMMENDED: Optional NEAR Model IE-1 Direct-Burial Junction Box (IP67 Rated) for convenient access to connections.

The NEAR® IGS10 Subwoofer is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for 5 (five) years from thedate of sale to the original purchaser. Any part of any NEAR product covered by this warranty that, with normal install-ation and use, becomes defective (as confirmed by Bogen upon inspection) during the applicable warranty period, will berepaired or replaced by Bogen, at Bogen’s option, provided the product is shipped insured and prepaid to: Bogen Factory ServiceDepartment: 4570 Shelby Air Drive, Suite 11, Memphis, TN 38118, USA. Repaired or replacement product will be returned toyou freight prepaid. This warranty does not extend to any of our products that have been subjected to abuse, misuse,improper storage, neglect, accident, improper installation or have been modified or repaired or altered in any manner whatsoever,or where the serial number or date code has been removed or defaced.

NEAR products that are out of warranty will also be repaired by the Bogen Factory Service Department -- same address as aboveor call 201-934-8500. The NEAR™ IGS10 Subwoofer provides the highest fidelity and easiest installation ofany outdoor subwoofer available today. With an extraordinarly flexible wiring scheme,you can enjoy your music any way you want. A dual-voice coil woofer allows for inde-pendent left and right stereo channels to be used. Or, the voice coils can be wired inparallel and the subwoofer can be used with a mono input for using multiple subwoofers.There is even a 128W / 70V line transformer included for those applications requiringmany loudspeakers for coverage. The very latest in outdoor sound technology isincluded in the IGS10 woofer: UDIO. This unique design combines the proven MetalDiaphragm Technology (MDT) with a dome-shaped diaphragm instead of the tradit-ional cone shape; and a new voice coil design with windings on the outside as wellas the inside of the aluminum former. Many performance advantages, such as low-distortion and deep, ground rattling bass, are the result of NEAR’s long track recordof leading the industry when performance and durability are needed.
Dispersion of the IGS10 is a full 360 degrees! This means that the orientation of thesubwoofer, whether mounted in-ground or on-ground, is not critical. However, bydesign, the frequency response is smoother and better defined when the enclosure ismounted in the ground. This mounting method also ensures a high level of securityonce the ground around the enclosure is packed firmly. In addition, as the ground packsmore firmly around the subwoofer enclosure, the bass and mid-range clarity improves.This is due to a reduction in the resonance of the molded enclosure which, by virtue ofits round shape with extensive ribbing, is already quite inert. The addition of the solidearth around the enclosure, in essence, makes the walls more solid, less resonant, andless of a factor in any coloration of the sound.
The vents on each side of the subwoofer’s enclosure are accurately tuned to deliversolid, well-defined bass. Entry into the enclosure by insects, small animals, or debris isprevented by perforated aluminum screens within the vents. However water may enterthrough these vents, but is not a cause of concern. The 10-inch UDIO woofer is designedto allow water to roll right off the surface and back out the vents so you can keep onlistening even in the rain, or when the sprinklers are running!

In addition to the depth requirements as above instructed, it is recommended that somefurther excavation be made beneath each enclosure so that 6 inches of crushed stonecan be added to provide proper drainage. Some type of standard drainage fabricshould then be placed as a buffer between the speaker and the crushed stone base.

When excavating for the burialof an IGS10 Subwoofer, selectan area that will support thedepth needed to accept theenclosure. The IGS10’s burialdepth should be just below its2 Tuned Vents, which shouldnot be obstructed in any wayby gravel, stone or mulch.
