The outdoor sensorenables weathercompensation by providing an advanced

level of modulation, achieving an additionlevel of efciency. This control compensafor the outside temperature by modulatinthe lower radiator temperatures in warmeweather and higher radiator temperaturescolder weather.

The outdoor temperature compensation ieasily congured using either the boilersinterface controls or the interface of anexternal Glow-worm Climastat or Climaprroom control (if tted). Optimum comfortand efciency is achieved when used inconjunction with a Climastat or Climapro(in modulating mode). The outdoor senso

can also be used with a conventional on/thermostat.

    General Information

    Application

The outdoor sensorcontrols the heatingdemand for the appliance, which is

    dependant on the outdoor temperature.

Any other use is considered as inappropriateand is forbidden.

The user will be responsible for any damagecaused by any other use.

    Servicing

Clean the case of the outdoor sensor withdamp soapy cloth, make sure that no watergoes inside the outdoor sensor.

Do not use any abrasive cleaning productas they could damage the housing or plasticcase.

WARNING:Isolate the boiler from theelectrical supply. A competant personshould make the electrical connections.

Use a cable that complies with thespecications given in Technical data, page7. Route the cable from the outdoor sensorto the boiler electrical cartridge at the boiler, refer to the literature supplied with yourboiler for location and access.

Refer to diagram 5, thread the cable through

the electrical sealing gland. Connect thecable to the electrical connection, polarityis not important. Fit the sealing gland, thissecures the cable and gives a water tightseal. Connect the cable to OTC1 and OTC2connection in the electrical cartridge atthe boiler, polarity is not important, refer todiagram 6.

    Choosing and Setting SensorHeating Curve.

A gradient must be chosen from the range

shown on page 17, labelled 0-9.

The decision as to which heating curveshould be used is based on two factors:

    1. The average minimum outside

    temperature of the region.

    2. The maximum temperature which the

    heating appliance can provide.

NOTE: Consider the level of heat loss in

comparison to typical UK heat loss e.g.

(double glazing, loft insulation and cavity wall

    insulation).

    Method with example.

The following example describes theprocess. The temperatures quoted should

be substituted with real values to nd therequired heating curve.

    1. Select the average minimum outdoor

temperature expected in your region where

the sensor will be installed. For example at

the peak of winter the temperature may dropto -5C. This would be the value selected

from the Outdoor temperature C axis.

    2. Select the maximum output temperature

of the heating appliance from the Heating

ow temperature (C) axis. For example this

    could be 82C.

    Adjusting room temperature setpoint.

By default the outdoor sensor aims to provide

a room ambient temperature of 20C. Insome situations it may be necessary to have

a lower or higher ambient room temperature

the adjustment is made in terms of an offset

value, which is entered into the appliance via

diagnostic menu d.46. Refer to the

following diagrams and text to do this.

    Method with example.

    Running screen is displayed

Press and hold the mode button. When

the screen is lit orange and displays 0,

If extra heating comfort is required, the roomtemperature setpoint can be increased viadiagnostic menu d.46. D.46 provides a

means to offset from the default 20C roomset point. For example to increase the targetroom temperature to 22C set d.46 to thevalue 2.

    Range of value d.46: -10 to 10.

    Adjusting Room Ambient

With the heating curve correctly setup foryour specic region, the room temperature

can be adjusted. This is achieved byincreasing or decreasing the setpointtemperature of your Climastat or Climapro/Climapro RF roomstat.

For systems with a Glow-worm Climapro. To adjust the room ambient set pointtemperature, refer to sections, Setting the

Comfort temperature or Central heatingtemporary override - central heating of theClimapro instructions for use, installation andservicing literature.

For systems with a Glow-worm Climastat. To adjust the room ambient set pointtemperature, refer to section 2 instructions
