For children, playing is of vital importance to enriching their health and happiness.

If we think back on our fondest memories, many would be during play time; those

giggles and smiles are forever imprinted in our memories.

We often take for granted how accessible play structures are for able-bodied and

verbal kids. At Arc Broward, we are fierce advocates of Changing perspectives.

Changing lives. Let’s help ease the burden for children with disabilities and provide a

fitness and playground area that is inclusive to all needs.

About Arc Broward

Incorporated in 1957, Arc Broward provides supports to more than 1,200

children and adults and employs nearly 400 health care, educational and other

professionals.

Arc Broward is a private non-profit, IRS Section 501(c)(3) exempt organization

based in South Florida. Nationally accredited by CARF, the Commission on the

Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, the organization provides a continuum

of 21 services primarily to individuals with developmental disabilities and other

life challenges.

Overview

The Arc Broward Outdoor Fitness Zone and Playground will serve approximately 200

children ages 10 through 22 who have severe autism and severe behavior disorders.

Many of these children also have issues with obesity and require specialized

programming to engage in physical activity.

With your kind support, we will transform the lives of these children providing them

with a new fitness and playground area that will help them live healthier, happier

and more productive lives.

Our Mission

and community organizations, donors and funders

to provide opportunities that create life-changing

outcomes so that people with disabilities and other life

challenges can live, learn, work and play successfully in

their communities.

The organization provides a variety of educational,

employment, behavioral, health care, social and

residential supports and services. Ultimately, Arc

Broward provides a community that transforms lives –

this mission is the crux of our work.

About OurABLE Program

Arc Broward’s ABLE program (Alternative Behavioral Learning Environment)

was a direct result of hearing the desperate calls from the community to

address a critical gap in services for children with developmental disabilities

and severe behavioral issues. From there, it was a privilege to create ABLE, an

after-school care and summer camp to children ages 3 to 22 who have autism

and severe behavior disorders. ABLE succeeds at providing behavioral,

academic, social, recreational, life skills and safety training to these children

who thrive when provided supportive services.

ABLE has proved to be integral to families by allowing parents and caregivers

to maintain full-time jobs or enjoy regular routines with other children.

Because of this, parents, caregivers and teachers are better equipped to

manage difficult behaviors at home and school.

Bringing this accessible playground to life is absolutely possible, but not

without support from caring individuals and organizations. Individuals

and Corporations making a donation of $500 or more will be recognized

on our Donor Wall, a permanent playground structure that will recognize

and thank those who came together to help our kids.
