What is a woodland discovery session?
Learning through the natural environment the group will undertake team and individual tasks. Groups willlearn to identify different trees, plants and animals that make up the woodland ecosystem. Individualswill learn about the various levels within the ecosystem with the tree at the centre. Mini beast and bughunts as well as a stream study will bring to life the learning experience.
The group will have a go at shelter building and other woodland crafts using natural resources. Theactivities are run in a sensitive way to minimise the impact on the environment. Some activities can berun to leave a lasting legacy within the woodland to enhance the biodiversity and helpto manage the woodland such as building habitat piles, nesting and roosting boxes.
