OverallResults
• 4ofthe5paJents(80%)usedASLastheirmainmodeofcommunicaJon,andonechild(20%)wasanoralcommunicatorwithspeechandlanguagescoresinthenormalrange.
• 2paJentsarenon-usersofCI,2paJentsareconsistentusers,and1islosttofollow-up.– Forthenon-users,pre-opABRwasnoresponse,MRIrevealedhypoplasJcorabsentauditorynerves,andintra-operaJveandpost-operaJveECAPresponseswereabsent.
Conclusions
• CochlearimplantaJonisanappropriateopJonoftreatmentofprofoundSNHLinchildrenwithCHARGEsyndrome.– MRIisnecessarytoevaluatestatusofauditorynervesforthispopulaJon.
– Outcomeslimitedbystatusofcochlearnerve.
• AnoresponseABRmaypredictpooroutcomeswithCIforchildrenwithCHARGEsyndrome.
