It’s such a great feeling

when [alumni] see that

connection between their

OCU education and their

later success.”

Professors who count your success as their own.

“A few weeks ago, one of our alumni who is in pharmacy school reached out to me to say thank you for not only teaching her chemistry, but for forcing her to really understand all of the concepts at a deep level. She told me that her deep understanding is what has made her successful in pharmacy school. Our goal here is not merely to teach our students so

they can get another “A” on their transcript and then forget everything, but we teach in ways that change how they think and how they reason, to help them be not just good at one thing, but to be great in whatever they choose to do.”

Dr. Stephen PrillimanAssociate Professor of Chemistry

with people from all walks of life and hear their diverse perspectives.

There are endless opportunities abroad. I highly encourage all students to show interest and start planning their trips in advance. I was lucky enough to study in the spring of my sophomore year, which allowed me to explore a different province in Argentina for an internship the following summer. Finances should never be a deterrent. Expanding your horizons is worth skipping the late night Taco Bell runs and spending time applying for scholarships. The money I spent on my adventures in Argentina gave me priceless memories and lifelong friendships I will cherish forever.”

Studying abroad taught

me more about myself

than I ever imagined.”

Study Abroad

“As a Washington state native, I did not think living in Argentina would be very difficult. I came halfway across the country for college; what was a few thousand kilometers? I mean, miles? The metric system was one of the many small adjustments that I had to make while abroad. Despite the differences in time, transportation, and social customs, going to Rosario was the best decision I have made

during my time at OCU. In four short months I became nearly fluent in Spanish, gained the confidence to make mistakes and try new things, increased my awareness of cultural differences, and so much more. I quickly realized that, regardless of where we are from, we all have the same innate needs and desires as humans. It was beautiful to have the opportunity to engage in conversation
