fauna, which ranks itself as very significant in ecological balance & biodiversity conservation spontaneously.

The marginality mystic characteristic and myths are also its native resources that have made the forest a unique one and placed it on the same platform of world heritage.

It is not merely a store house of livelihood but also an important paradigm of buffering human settlement from the natural calamities.

The Sundarban is the place of origin of the world famous Royal Bangle Tigers along with the colony of spotted deer, birds, mammals, reptiles, insects and aquatic animals.

Simply, the Sundarban is the place of panoramic landscape containing flora, fauna and legendary folk tales

Threats of Sundarban Indiscriminate human intervention and resource

extraction has placed this mangrove forest on the verge of destruction and the impact of global warming also a potential threat for many mangrove species.

Inhabitants of vicinity also accelerated their dependence on the Sundarban resources because of salinity increase resulting inadequate harvest of their traditional agricultural practice.

Intensive human intervention in form of tourists, their tumultuous behavior and unfair conduct are also leadership reasons for endangering the unruffled solemness of the Sundarban
