We like to feel fit. We like to have fun. We like to play hard. Let’s move now, everyone!
CHORUS
We want to feel healthy. We want to feel fit. Come on, everybody. Stand! Don’t sit!
What did you do to be fit today? What did you do to be strong? What did you do to be fit today? What did you do?
Did you move your legs? Yes, I did! Did you stretch your back? I did that a lot! Did you get enough sleep? Yes, I did! Did you eat a healthy snack? Oops, I forgot!
Don’t worry. Tomorrow is another day. You can try again. It’s OK!
We like to feel fit. We like to have fun. We like to play hard. Let’s jump now, everyone!
CHORUS
What did you do to be fit today? What did you do to be strong? What did you do to be fit today? What did you do?
Did you stretch your muscles? Yes, I did! Did you touch your toes? I did that a lot! Did you bend your knees? Yes, I did! Did you wiggle your nose? No. I forgot!
Don’t worry. Tomorrow is another day. You can try again. It’s OK!

A Zookeeper’s DayMy uncle is a zookeeper. He takes care of some of the
monkeys in the zoo. He gets up at 6:30 every morning. After he has breakfast, he feeds the monkeys. There are more than 60 monkeys, so there’s a lot of food! The monkeys eat vegetables, fruits, and special monkey food.
Before lunch my uncle usually cleans the monkey house. It’s hard work! In the afternoon he feeds the monkeys again. Sometimes he talks to the visitors at the zoo. He loves his job. And I love to visit him at the zoo!
Think. Pair. Share.

Review of the Antigua EcotourIf you wanted a special vacation on a beautiful island,
where would you go? I recommend this ecotour in Antigua. The tour guides took our small group on a boat to a
natural rock bridge called Hell’s Gate. We had to swim to the island and walk up the rocks and through a cave. Then we walked across the bridge. The view from the top was spectacular! The guides give you a tasty lunch on the boat and then it’s time to go snorkeling! The boat stopped at a coral reef and we explored the wildlife. We saw many colorful fish. We saw a stingray, too! The water can be rough, so snorkeling is hard work. But it’s worth the effort. When we got back on the boat, there was a snack of banana bread ready for us. Delicious!
If you prefer doing something active on vacation instead of sitting on the beach, this is the trip for you!
Read. Read the ecotour review. Underline an example of a sentence that describes just one idea, and circle another that describes more than one idea.
1
Write. Write a review of a vacation. Tell what you liked and didn’t like. Describe what you saw and did. Remember to use different types of sentences.

To make your writing interesting, you can use different kinds of sentences. You can use short, simple sentences to describe your ideas. Or you can combine your ideas into longer sentences. You can also use questions or exclamations.

Sometimes young animals such as elephants don’t have parents to take care of them. Who can help them?
A group called the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust helps elephants and other animals in Kenya, in Africa. Sometimes, a baby elephant’s mother dies. When that happens, the baby doesn’t have anyone to take care of it, or any milk to drink. People at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust find the baby elephant and care for it. They feed it milk and protect it.
The baby elephants are usually sad at first. They don’t want to eat or sleep. People at the Trust take turns caring for the baby elephant. They sleep near it and give it milk when it’s hungry. The people are like the elephant’s new family.
After a few weeks, the baby elephant starts to play and make friends with other elephants. Now the people at the Trust know that the elephant is happy. In time the elephant is ready to go back to the wild to live with other elephants!

THE Paralympics You’ve probably heard of the Olympic Games. People from many countries come together every four years to run, swim, and play other sports at the Olympics. Another great sporting event, called the Paralympic Games, also takes place every four years.
At the Paralympics, people with disabilities come together to run, swim, and compete at sports. Years ago people with disabilities didn’t take part in many sports. Now at the Paralympics they compete in sports such as skiing, wheelchair tennis, and judo. At the beginning of the Games they dress in their national uniforms and take part in parades. When they win, they receive medals that celebrate their strength.
Daniel Dias was born with no hands and only one foot. In school, children called him names. He stayed home a lot. He didn’t do much. When he was 16, Daniel watched the Paralympics on TV and saw disabled people like him swimming. He exercised and learned to swim. Soon he was fit and strong. He was also very fast. He won gold medals in his first Paralympic Games in Beijing.
The Paralympic Games changed Daniel’s life. They are also helping to change how people see Paralympians and other people with physical disabilities.
