Entrance Hymn Come let us bow down to Christ as we worship Him the Son of God. Save us O Son of God, Who did rise from the dead; we sing to You: Alleluia.

Resurrectional Apolitikion The joyful news of Your Resurrection was proclaimed by the angel to the women disciples, having thrown off the curse that fell on Adam, they ran elatedly to tell the Apostles: Death has been vanquished; Christ our God is risen from the dead, blessing all the world with His great mercy.

Apolitikion for the Forefeast Unto us is born today Mary the child of God, as the branch from Jesse's root, and as the fruit of David's loins, and all creation is re-created and deified. O heaven and the earth, rejoice in unison. Sing praises unto her, O all you Gentile clans. Joachim is exultant and Anna is keeping festival, crying out: "The barren woman bears the Theotokos, the nourisher of our Life."

Church Hymn (Troparion of Pentecost) Blessed are You, O Christ Our God. Who has shown the fishermen as wise men, by sending down Your Holy Spirit upon them and through them the whole world You drew into Your net. O Lover of Mankind, glory to You.

Kontakion Today the Virgin and Mother of God, Mary the untouched bridal chamber of the heavenly Bridegroom is being brought to birth from barren womb by God's counsel, to be made ready as the chariot of the Word of God; for to this she was predestined, the gate of God and Mother of true life.

THE CONFESSION OF FAITH (Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed)

I believe in one God, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages; Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten, not created, of one essence with the Father through Whom all things were made. Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became man. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried; And He rose on the third day, according to the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father; And He will come again with glory to judge the living and dead. His kingdom shall have no end. And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Creator of life, Who proceeds from the Father, Who together with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, Who spoke through the prophets. In one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the age to come. Amen.

EPISTLE READING: St. Paul's Letter to the Galatians 6:11-18

BRETHREN, see with what large letters I am writing to you with my own hand. It is those who

want to make a good showing in the flesh that would compel you to be circumcised, and only in

order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ. For even those who receive

circumcision do not themselves keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may

glory in your flesh. But far be it from me to glory except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by

which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. For neither circumcision counts for

anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. Peace and mercy be upon all who walk by this

rule, upon the Israel of God. Henceforth let no man trouble me; for I bear on my body the marks

of Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brethren. Amen.

GOSPEL READING: John 3:13-17

The Lord said, "No one has ascended into heaven but he who descended from heaven, the Son of

man. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man be lifted up,

that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not

perish but have eternal life. For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but

that the world might be saved through him."

If grace is God's love for the undeserving, then what does it looks like in action? And if Christians are its sole dispensers, then how are we doing at lavishing grace on a world that knows far more of cruelty and unforgiveness than it does of mercy? Come and discuss these issues.

2014-15 Philoptochos Coffee Hour Schedule

Dear Ladies of Philoptochos and Ladies of Holy Trinity,

Once again we thank you for your example of hospitality through the service of Coffee Hour. We are grateful to each and every one of you for providing this pleasant time after the Divine Services each Sunday for socializing with family and friends, welcoming visitors, and sponsoring our charitable events.

As in the past, a Philoptochos board member (in bold) is responsible for coordinating her group. Please inform the board member as soon as possible if you cannot participate. If your name has been omitted from the list, please let us know. Any omissions are unintentional.

Please look through the schedule and mark your calendar. The board member assigned to your Sunday will call you early in the week to remind you of the date. We ask that you bring enough pastries, cookies, etc. of your choice to serve approximately 30- 40 people. It is especially helpful if you arrive by 9am so that preparation may be completed in time for Liturgy. If there is a memorial planned for your date, an enhanced presentation is customary, and your assistance may be needed assembling the Kolyva. We encourage you to include family members- your husbands, brothers, nephews, nieces, and godchildren (children 14 and up). Again, thank you for your dedication to Philoptochos, your church family, and the outreach of coffee hour. In His Common Service, The Philoptochos Coffee Hour Committee

GOYA 2015 Trip to the Hellenic College/Holy Cross Seminary in Boston

Holy Trinity was recently awarded a grant from the Center for Congregations to bolster our youth program (targeting grades 6 through 12). The Award is a matching grant and our Parish has dedicated 2013 raffle proceeds towards this effort of matching funds. An 18-month plan (that officially began June 2014) that includes service, theological education, and social components had to be submitted. We learned that embedding intergenerational activities into our plan is a meaningful way to link our youth to our adults (including our seniors) with whom they would otherwise have limited interaction. Research tells us that the more adult connections the children have with their home Parish membership when they are young, the more likely they will make their faith a priority into adulthood. The major components of our funded-grant program: 1. Service projects to help others in need and are in geographical area:

A. Anna’s House summer food service (3rd Wednesday during summer months) 2014 work completed (June/July events)

B. North United Methodist Church Soup Kitchens throughout the year. Work with Philoptochos to alternate monthly events throughout the year.

C. Our Lady of Mount Comfort in Carmel; project to be determined. 2. 2015 Subsidized Mission Trip to Boston, MA—Week of July 19th. The details will be announced soon, however please save the whole week on your calendar today. Eligible GOYA participants and adult chaperones can expect to: A.Visit the Hellenic College/Holy Cross Seminary; B. Learn more about our Orthodox Church from Seminarians; C. Participate in at least one service project in the Boston area; and D. Enjoy sight-seeing in the Boston area. The goal is for Holy Trinity to use this Grant as a springboard to develop continuous, meaningful, philanthropic work around our community and to schedule an out-of-state mission trip that combines service work and Orthodox faith-based education every 2 or 3 years. Ensuring fairness to all GOYANs and Holy Trinity families, Father Bill and the GOYA leaders agreed that a simple set of upfront Parish event participation metrics will be in place this year to determine guaranteed eligibility for the upcoming subsidized mission trip to Boston. The minimal participation rates for GOYANs are as follows: At least 30% attendance in Church School during the 2014-2015 Church year. At least 30% attendance at GOYA meetings/social events/philanthropic activities during the

2014-2015 Church year. Thank you for encouraging your children to be a part of this very important ministry of our Parish.
