*Communion is offered on 2nd & 4th Sundays.*

ST. PAUL’S COMMUNION STATEMENT: Our Lord Jesus graciously shares with us His body and blood to forgive our sins, assure us of salvation, strengthen our faith, and unite us as members of His church. We believe:

That we are sinful human beings in need of forgiveness;

That the Lord’s Body and Blood are truly present in the bread and wine which He offers us;

That through the sacrament we are forgiven of our sins;

and strengthened to live as God’s people. If you share this faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, we invite you to join us at His table. If you do not wish to take communion, you are invited to cross your arms over your chest and receive a blessing from the Pastor. If you have any questions, please consult the Pastor or a Lay Minister.

COME AS YOU ARE Welcome to St. Paul Lutheran Church! We are a community of believers from all walks of life, who face all kinds of daily struggles and challenges. We don’t have all the answers, but we know the One who does. We don’t always get things right, but by God’s grace we follow the One who never sinned. We are not perfect people, just forgiven people, and you’ll fit in just as you are! You don’t need to bring the perfect clothes or the perfect smile or the perfect family…just yourself, with all your questions or hurts or scars, and let Jesus take it from there!

Bread, Water and Light This week we move from the Gospel of Mark to the Gospel of John. Bread, Water and Light are all found in John chapters 6-8. Jesus says: +"I am the Bread of Life,” +"Rivers of Living Water," and +"I am the Light of the world." Over the next several weeks, we will spend time in these chapters of John.

Pastoral Visitation Call the Church Office at 956-682-2345 or email [email protected] if you, or someone you know, would like a visit from one of the pastors.

Opportunities to Serve at St. Paul

Living As God's Stewards-Weekly Update

We continue to keep you informed about St. Paul’s financial situation through these weekly updates. We will share this information here, through videos, and in our monthly newsletter, In The Know. We want you to be informed so that as you lift up St. Paul in your prayers, you can pray specifically for God’s provision for the ministry as you give, participate and support the mission and outreach.

Here are the numbers from Last week: Last week, the weekly reg-ular offerings (in-person, mail and online) totaled $31,415.47. This is $19,877.00 over our WEEKLY budget need of $11,538.47*. We have a surplus of $54,640.21 for the year. To maintain this, we need to exceed our $11,538.47 weekly income. This could be as simple as giving $10-20 a week more. We trust that God will bless our congregation and supply us with what we need to serve His King-dom. We also pray that God will lead us to look at how we use the gifts that He has given us to support His work through St. Paul. Pastor Gregory Lorenz *$11,538.47 represents our weekly budgeted need for church offerings. This is calculated by dividing the annual amount of budgeted CHURCH OFFERINGS ($600,000) by 52 weeks. School and Early Learning Center income is in addition to this amount and is used to cover School and ELC expenses.

Announcements

Sanctuary Closed for Repairs and Renovations Construction in the Sanctuary is under way! ALL worship services are current-

ly being held in the Gym. If you have never been to the Gym before, you will want to park on the north side of the building (near the Prayer Garden or soccer field). The gym entrance is near the school playground. We thank everyone for your patience and understanding as we practice flexi-bility during this time. Updates to Our Health & Safety Requirements The Centers for Disease Control and Preven-tion (CDC) have once again classified Hidalgo County as an area of, “Substantial or High Trans-mission.” https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view The CDC’s Guidance for People Fully Vaccinated states: To maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others, wear a mask indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission. Due to this change in status by the CDC, St. Paul will be moving from a “Masks Recommended” to a “Masks Required” policy. This will take effect as of August 2, 2021 for the Church, School, and Early Learning Center. Once again, we place love and concern for our neighbor first as we respect and protect one another by wearing face coverings. Thank you for your understanding. Scrip Gift Cards Orders Scrip gift cards are available for purchase in the office, limited stock. You can also download the app (RaiseRight) and order online. The school will receive a percentage of the purchase amount. Thanks for your support!
