Our Veterans possess a unique perspective to share about our nation’s history. First hand recollections of their service provide a richer and more personal context to historical accounts.
MVHP is a not-for-profit corporation organized to interview and record the stories of Missouri Veterans.

• Mid Missouri Honor Flight• U.S. Department of Veterans

Other partners include:
• Train volunteers to interview and record stories of Veterans
• Organize community-based groups to interview as many Veterans as possible
• Provide recordings to Veterans free of charge
MVHP’S Primary Goals:
• 2000 - Congress passed legislation authorizing the Library of Congress to form Veterans History Project
• 2010 - program funding cut from Missouri state budget
• 2011 – volunteers founded the Missouri Veterans History Project

• 2012 - Board of Directors oversee and advise organization with members from various Veteran Organizations
• 2014 – interviewed our 500th Veteran
• Expand active MVHP chapters throughout the state
• Increase training opportunities for interviewers, volunteers
• Increase awareness about MVHP• Increase number of veterans
interviewed, especially WW II and Korea
Looking to the future:
• Support and expand staff• Open an office• Cover cost of supplies to continue
providing interviews at no charge• Upgrade equipment to allow highest
professional quality of recordings
Additional goals:
