NOTIFICATION OF AVAILABLITY OF THE REVISED DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

ASSESSMENT REPORT (VERSION 2) FOR PUBLIC REVIEW AND COMMENT ON THE ESKOM

PROPOSED NUCLEAR POWER STATION AND ASSOCIATED INFRASTRUCTURE

The Revised Draft Environmental Assessment Report (EIR) (Version 1) was distributed for public

review from 09 May 2011 to 07 August 2011 for a period of 90 days. Upon receipt of comments from

Interested and Affected Parties (I&APs) and the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) the report

has been updated and the Revised Draft EIR (Version 2) is now available for public comment and

review. The report will be available from Monday, 21 September 2015 to Monday, 23 November

2015 for a period of 60 days.

As such the Revised Draft EIR (Version 2) (hard copy and CD) will be available at public venues,

grouped per province, as detailed on Page 3 of this letter. All I&APs are invited and encouraged to

attend Public Meetings where findings on the report will be presented and discussed. Public Meetings

Comments received on the Revised Draft EIR (Version 2) will be used to produce the Final EIR, which

will then be submitted to the DEA for their consideration. A letter will be sent to all registered I&APs

informing them of the Authorities’ decision.

INFRASTRUKTUUR

Die Hersiene Konsep Omgewingsimpakevalueringsverslag (OIV) (Weergawe 1) was vanaf

9 Mei 2011 tot 7 Augustus 2011 vir ’n 90-dae tydperk vir openbare insae beskikbaar. Met ontvangs

van kommentaar van Belangstellende en Geaffekteerde Partye (B&GP’s) en die Departement van

Omgewingsake (DO), is die verslag gewysig en die Hersiene Konsep OIV (Weergawe 2) is nou

beskikbaar vir openbare kommentaar en insae. Die verslag sal vanaf Maandag, 21 September 2015

tot Maandag, 23 November 2015 vir ’n 60-dae tydperk beskikbaar wees.

Derhalwe sal die Hersiene Konsep OIV (Weergawe 2) (gedrukte kopie en op CD) by openbare plekke

beskikbaar wees wat per provinsie gegroepeer is, soos uiteengesit op bladsy 3 van hierdie skrywe.

Alle B&GP’s word genooi en aangemoedig om Openbare Vergaderings by te woon waar die

bevindinge van die verslag voorgehou en bespreek sal word. Openbare vergaderings sal soos volg
