70 Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority

TheMPFAisamemberoftheInternationalOrganisationofPensionSupervisors(“IOPS”)undertheOrganisationforEconomicCo-operationandDevelopment(“OECD”).Duringtheyear,wecontributedtothedevelopmentanddraftingofanumberofguidelines,goodpracticesandworkingpapersrelatingtopensionregulationandsupervision.Wealsosharedourregulatory,supervisoryandenforcementexperiencewithotherIOPSmembersbygivingpresentationsandparticipatingindiscussioninIOPSmeetings.

Fromtimetotime,theMPFAreceivedvisitorsfromoverseasandtheMainland,includingrepresentativesofgovernmentornon-governmentorganizations,exchangingviewsaswellassharingexperienceswiththem.OurrepresentativesalsoparticipatedinseveralinternationalconferencesandgavepresentationsontheMPFSystem.Highlightsoftheseactivitiesaregivenbelow.

ExecutiveDirector(Regulation&Policy)participatedasapanelmemberdiscussingthefeesofpensionfundsatthe4thAnnualAsianInvestmentSummitorganizedbyAsianInvestorinHongKong.

ExecutiveDirector(Supervision)andGeneralCounselattendedtheSymposiumonPublicPensionGovernanceandInvestmentorganizedbyTheWorldBankinBali,Indonesia.

AtMPFA,ChiefOperatingOfficer(Enforcement)receivedadelegationfromtheMinistryofHumanResourcesandSocialSecurity,ledbytheDeputyDirector-General,MrXuYanjun.ShegavethedelegatesapresentationonthelatestdevelopmentsintheMPFSystem.

AdelegationoftheGuangdongMunicipalLabourandSocialSecurityBureau,ledbytheDeputySecretaryofPartyLeadershipGroupandDeputyDirector,MsLinWangping,visitedtheMPFA.ChiefOperatingOfficer(Enforcement)receivedthedelegatesandbriefedthemontheoperationsoftheMPFSystem.

ExecutiveDirector(Regulation&Policy)attendedtheTechnicalCommitteemeetingofIOPSinParis,France.

ExecutiveDirector(Regulation&Policy)gaveaspeechonEstablishingtheAppropriateRegulatoryFrameworkattheForumontheDevelopmentofPrivatePensionIndustryinMalaysiaorganizedbytheSecuritiesCommissionofMalaysiainKualaLumpur,Malaysia.
