It’s not going to remain a UFO for very long…I want to have that baby quilted straightaway. I’ll bring it in and show you the finished product. I love it. My HEART-felt thanks to each of you! As we come to the close of the old year, I want to share with you that I’ve had a wonderful time. It’s been a pleasure to be your president because I’ve been able to get to know many of you so much better. I look forward to another year. I looked back over my last year’s January message. Sad to say, I didn’t learn to love applique. I still can’t sew a straight line, but I did buy a little gadget to help. I didn’t try any free motion quilting. The main thing I said I wanted to do, was to knock out the first of a series of quilts I have planned. Nope, didn’t do that, either. I suppose those are good goals to have in 2016, too. ~ sigh ~ At least the quilt series I have in mind will lend itself to the Quiltmania challenge. Maybe that’ll get me going! Don’t you love the fresh start of the new year? I love that happy optimism of new possibilities. Big or little, it doesn’t matter! Like the first day of vacation. That first cast with fresh bait. First night in a new home. A new sewing machine. Becoming sweethearts. A fresh start is a wonderful thing – a new chance to make things more the way you want them to be. I’m both disheartened and encouraged by this quote from Annie Dillard: “How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.” I look at my days and often think this is not what I want my life to be! Well, there’s no better time to change things than *now*. My wish for us all is to have a wonderful and prosperous new year. I pray we don’t lose any dear friends from our memberships as we did last year. May our ranks grow with more quilting enthusiasts and may our friendships deepen. And as I said a year ago, may we delight in spending time engaged in the charm and beauty of quilting. Happy Quilting! Dear Quilting Friends,

First of all, allow me to thank you for the wonderful heart quilt top! I’m both disheartened and encouraged by this quote from Annie Dillard: “How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our

lives.” I look at my days and often think this is not what I want my life to be!
