I’m writing this on December 23rd - we just got done with the Sunday School and Sermon series called ‘God With Us’. By the time you read this, Christmas Day will have passed. We’re looking at 2019 coming up quickly.

The month of December was really just a prelude - a preview - of the theme for our coming year at GCC.

‘God With Us’ isn’t just a Christmas slogan. It’s one of the many names given to Christ Jesus. I also have come to understand it as a mindset, a paradigm, another way of thinking and operating day by day.

Do you wake up with the assurance that God is with you?

Do you do your work at home or your job knowing God is helping you?

Do you care and love your family in the light of God’s presence?

Does Jesus’ promise, ‘I will be with you always’ make you nervous, give you comfort, or strengthen you?

In 2019, we will explore the implications of the very close proximity of God to the people He made.

• God was with His creation at the beginning.

• He was with His chosen people as they suffered in slavery at the hands of the Egyptians.

• He dwelt among His people in smoke, fire, and in the Holy of Holies in the Tabernacle and the Temple.

• He walked among us in the flesh as Jesus of Nazareth.

• He dwells within us in the form of the Holy Spirit.

• Someday, God will return, making His dwelling with us in a new creation...forever.

In scripture, the posture of God seems to consistently be toward people. We are NOT the center of the universe - but God consistently wants us to know he is close, accessible, and available. God is with us. God is with me. God is with you - right now.

Sunday School 9:30am Coffee, juice, donuts Nursery is available (0-2years) Student classes: 3 years - Kindergarten 1st- 3rd grades - “The Lord’s Prayer” 4th-7th grade- “What’s in the Bible- New Testament?” 8th-12th grades - “Living Questionable Lives”

Worship service 10:30am Nursery (0 - 3 years) available for the entire service

Children’s Church (4 years to 3rd grade) Worship with your child, then kids are dismissed before the sermon begins and return after it’s done.
