Annual God’s Share Appeal I write to thank you for your continued generosity to the Diocese of Bismarck.

Your response to our appeal reflects our theme “United in Gratitude for God’s Blessings.” Your generosity speaks clearly of your understanding of the spirit of stewardship regarding God’s gifts. May the Lord reward you abundantly.

Last weekend we focused on the central mystery of our faith: the Holy Trinity. This weekend, we focus on how one person of the Trinity, the Son, entered the world and took on human flesh. We focus on the Body of Christ (the Corpus Christi, in Latin) present among us! And, I would add, present even within us via Holy Communion. This great mystery of his Real Presence is the reason to be Catholic.

Many Stanley parishioners may have noticed that the statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus has been installed in the base of the bell tower. The installation went very smoothly, and I think it looks beautiful. It’s a nice addition to our church. I want to thank everyone who stepped up to help move the statue into place (it is extremely heavy). Especially, I want to thank Ace Hardware for sending over their forklift and someone who knew how to use it! May God reward them for their generosity.

No Communion Service on Monday, June 4th, in Stanley. No Mass on Friday, June 8th, as Fr. Jason, some volunteers, and staff, will be in Bismarck attending a one-day conference on suicide prevention. Elonda will offer a Communion Service that morning at 7:15 a.m. Volunteers Needed for Christian Life Camp at Mandaree: A Christian Life Camp will be held St. Anthony Church at Mandaree on July

7-13. Volunteers needed for the following positions: adult counselors (age 18 and over), junior counselors (ages 15-17), nurse, cooks, bus driver, prayer support group, and teacher. Join the Carmelites for Upcoming Novena: The Discalced Carmelite Nuns (in Hague) invite you to join them in the novena to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Saturday, July 7 through Monday, July 16. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be specifically offered at the Carmelite Monastery (7:30 a.m.) for all the intentions received by the Nuns for this Novena on the first day of the Novena (July 7) and on the Feast Day itself (July 16). Job Opening for Donor & Planned Giving Assistant: The Diocese of Bismarck has an opening for a full-time Donor and Planned Giving Assistant. Responsibilities of the position include donor cultivation, scheduling and event planning. Position also prepares donor reports and manages and maintains Customer Relationship Management database software. The Donor and planned Giving Assistant may also develop proposals and gift illustrations for potential donors. Compensation will be competitive, includes a benefits package, and will be commensurate with experience of candidate. Statewide travel and some limited national travel is required. If you are interested in joining the prayer chain to pray for the needs of the community, let Sally or Fr. Jason know and we’ll get you on the list to receive the prayer intentions. Likewise, if you would like to request prayer intentions, let the parish office know. There is one rule, however, designed to respect privacy: If you are requesting prayers for someone else, especially someone not in your family, we need to know that the person and/or their family do not mind their petition being shared with the community.
