My Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Msgr. T. Mark Condon

L D    This summer has passed by rapidly. We s ll con nue to deal with days that are uncertain. As we observe Labor Day we pray, especially, for those who are without work as a result of the pandemic. We offer gra tude for all of those who work to care for the sick and to serve our communi es. We are grateful to the Lord for the gi of the summer months, unusual though they have been. As we pause this Labor Day we pray that God will bless all of those who labor to support their families and other loved ones. The Pastoral Cons tu on on the Church in the Modern World, Gaudium et Spes notes that human work is a par cipa on in God’s work:

This mandate concerns the whole of everyday ac vity as well. For while providing the substance of life for themselves and their families, men and women are performing their ac vi es in a way which appropriately benefits society. They can justly consider that by their labor they are unfolding the Creator's work, consul ng the advantages of their brothers and sisters, and are contribu ng by their personal industry to the realiza on history of the divine plan (n. 34).

We pray for all of those who are without employment so that they will soon find meaningful and sufficient work so that they are able to care for themselves and those who depend upon them. At this observance of Labor Day, we also pray for all of those young people who will be returning to school or beginning high school or college. May the Holy Spirit fill their hearts with wisdom so that they will be good students and make the choices that help them to make the most of their educa on. On this Labor Day, one Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 AM.

P S J W O Glorious Saint Joseph, model of all those who are devoted to labor, obtain for me the grace to work conscien ously, pu ng the call of duty above my natural inclina ons, to work with gra tude and joy, in a spirit of penance for the remission of my sins, considering it an honor to employ and develop by means of labor the gi s received from God, to work with order, peace, modera on and pa ence, without ever shrinking from weariness and difficul es, to work above all with purity of inten on and detachment from self, having always death before my eyes and the account that I must render of me lost, of talents wasted, of good omi ed, of vain complacency in success, so fatal to the work of God. All for Jesus, all through Mary, all a er thine example, O Patriarch, St. Joseph. Such shall be my mo o in life and in death. Amen.

- Saint Pope Pius X

C F C Last week, this week, and for several more weeks we celebrate First Holy Communion for the children

of our parish who were not able to celebrate the sacrament in the Spring as we had planned. We ask God to bless our First Communicants and their families on this happy day. First Holy Communion is one of the happiest days in the life of the parish as we celebrate with young people coming forward to receive the Body

Online Giving Will Help Sustain Our Church

Meeting your giving goal will help support our church’s many ministries dedicated to strengthening our church’s community and community at large.

Online Giving allows you to make donations, payments and pledges via your smart device or computer to our church. Search the App Stores for Online Giving or go to www.OLGapp.com and register with our parish. Set up your gift today or consider an additional gift via our website on your smart device. Visit www.holyangelsrc.org and click on the “Donate” tab to make a one-time or recurring donation. For parishioners who want to avoid credit card and bank transaction fees, we strongly encourage the free bank bill-payment services that many local banks offer. For example, both Bank of America and Chase offer Bill Pay services that allow the account owner to set up a weekly automatic payment via check in a set amount to the parish. This paper check is then mailed by the bank to the parish on the date the account holder sets. This works very well and is easy for most parishioners to set up and use.

Support Holy Angels Church Did you know that when you shop at

smile.amazon.com/ch/22-1520396, AmazonSmile donates 0.5% of eligible purchases to Holy Angels?

On your first visit to AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com) search for Our Lady of the Holy Angels Church (Little Falls) so the church can receive donations from eligible purchases before you begin shopping. Amazon will remember your selection, and then every eligible purchase you make at smile.amazon.com will result in a donation. Remember, only purchases at smile.amazon.com (NOT www.amazon.com or the mobile app) support Holy Angels Church and only items that say “Eligible for donation”.

ATTENTION PARENTS! FAITH FORMATION REGISTRATION

Please visit our website https://holyangelsrc.org/ to view a recently created FAITH FORMATION link. Under it you will find information related to our curriculum this year, program guidelines and expectations, parent resources and registration for the upcoming year! Registration should be completed online and submitted electronically, along with payment. If you have more than one child to register, EACH CHILD MUST BE REGISTERED SEPARATELY, so the fee is divided when you submit payment for each child. For example the total fee for 2 children is $135 which will be $67.50 per child, when registering each separately. If you have 3 children to register, the total is $175, which will be $58.50 per child when you register each separately.

It will certainly be a Faith Formation year unlike any we have ever encountered, but I am confident that we will continue to partner together to ensure your children continue to learn the important tenets of our Catholic Faith, and most importantly meaningfully apply the teachings and example of Jesus Christ in their development of a relationship with God.

Dear Parents:

You and your families are in my prayers as we all prepare to begin a new school year. I pray that the year ahead will be a time of peace and good health for you and your families. The new year will require both a willingness to experiment with new models of learning and patience.

As our parish makes the transition to on-line learning for our faith formation program, we need to be as prepared as possible. The final date for faith formation, including First Eucharist and Confirmation, is September 5, 2020. New registrations will not be accepted after that date. Please understand that in light of our new program it is not possible to add additional students following that date.

God bless you all and know of my prayers for you, especially at Mass.

Sincerely,

Monsignor T. Mark Condon Pastor
