** AUGUST ROTA IN PORCH **
Today’s gospel teaches us never to underestimate the significance of even the
tiniest efforts we make to be generous with the resources we have at our
disposal, whether it is resources of money, or time or some ability or other.
All of the evangelists see a link between what happened in
the desert that day and what happened at the Last Supper
and what happens at every Eucharist. Just as Jesus
transformed the small boy’s simple gifts of five barley
loaves and two fish into a feast for thousands, so he
transforms our simple gifts of bread and wine into a
spiritual feast for all, the bread of life and the cup of
salvation. The way the Lord works in the Eucharist is how
he works in the rest of our lives. He takes the little we offer
to him and by means of it, in the words of Saint Paul, he is
‘able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can
ask or imagine.’

for the rest of the year and discuss anything else that matters to you.
Please bring along something towards light refreshments, thanks.
Contact Sylvia on 07870 508790 or at [email protected] for
additional information. Looking forward to seeing you. Sylvia JOHN FISHER APPLICATION INFORMATION
Each year The John Fisher School is oversubscribed; one of the main
reasons why some applicants were not able to gain a place with us,
was because parents/carers did not complete the required
Supplementary information form (SIF). As stated in our Admissions Policy there are two stages of
application to be completed: Firstly, parents/carers must put us (The John Fisher School) as one of
their school choices with their Local Authority, using the Common
Application Form (CAF) from 1st September and by the closing date
31st October each year. Secondly, parents/carers must complete and return a SIF with
supporting documents (and evidence if necessary) to us at The John
Fisher school, by the closing date 31st October each year. SIF’s can be downloaded from the school website
www.johnfisherschool.org and returned via post or in person, or
you can collect them directly from the school. If you return your
completed SIF and original supporting documents / evidence by post,
we ask that you please provide a correctly stamped addressed
envelope for us to return the documents back to you.
