Redemptorist Social Services Center

It’s time for SOCK IT TO POVERTY.

The Center is collecting socks for their clients in need, and holding a raffle (details to the right), to support the Emergency Assistance program.

For your convenience, there will be a sock collection barrel at each entrance to the church during the month of September. While all socks are appreciated, adult size socks are especially needed.

Purchase your raffle tickets at the Center, 207 W. Linwood. Drawings for the winners will be October 31st.

Guadalupe Workshop 2018

On Friday, October 19th, from 3:30 pm to 9:00 pm, Msgr. Eduardo Chavez, Director and co-founder of the Institute of Guadalupan Studies and Canon at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City, will lead a workshop and answer questions regarding Our Lady of Guadalupe here in our John J. Sullivan, Jr. Banquet Hall. Mass will be celebrated at 8:00 pm.

Please bring paper and pencil or pen if you would like to take notes. Snacks, water and coffee will be provided.

September is a month that offers hope for things to come our daily life has a new rhythm, there are new beginnings and new encounters, and a new energy is seen in the parish community.

In this month of accelerating activities, keep us mindful that we live for Christ and not for ourselves. Give us the strength and the wisdom to be “Doers” of Your Word, and not just listeners; to be good stewards of the Gospel each and every day.

In this month of transition help us find a deeper spiritual balance in our lives that takes time for you, listens to the promptings of your Spirit and give us hope that the body of Christ has well begun the transformation of a troubled world.

Baptisms

Baptisms are scheduled on the last Sunday of each month after the 11:30 Mass.

All parents wishing to have their children baptized at Redemptorist must attend a baptism class before the baptism. We strongly prefer that the godparents of the child also attend the class.

Baptism classes are held the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Rectory. Call the parish office at (816) 561-3771 to register or for more information.

Marriages

To marry at Redemptorist Church, at least one of the couple must be a baptized Catholic, and both must be free to marry in the Catholic Church.

Weddings are scheduled on Saturdays at either 11:00 am, 1:30 pm or 6:30 pm. Wedding rehearsals are scheduled the Friday evening before the wedding.

Please contact a priest at least six to nine months prior to your anticipated wedding date. Call the office at (816) 561-3771 for more information.

Reconciliation

Redemptorist provides many opportunities for the sacrament of reconciliation. Confessions are heard one-half hour before each weekday Mass, and on Saturdays from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and from 7:30 pm to 8:00 pm, or by appointment.

We also have two Parish Penance Services each year, one during Advent and one during Lent.

Please note, there are no confessions on Sundays or on holydays.
