Howdy,
At the risk of being politically incorrect in
our gender neutral society, I want to wish
all of our mothers a Happy Mother’s Day.
In fact, I will go a little farther and wish all
grandmothers, godmothers, or any who
carry that sacred title of “mother” a wonder-
ful day as well.
For all of us this is a special day, whether
our mothers are living or not. I remember
shortly after my mother died I began to
realize an even stronger relationship with
our Blessed Mother, Mary. She is a mother
available to us all as adopted brothers and
sisters of Christ. Maybe that is why we
honor Mary, not just with a day, but with a
whole month.
As we honor our Blessed Mother all this
month, let us also remember to honor our
mothers as well.

Para todos nosotros, este es un día
especial, independientemente de si
nuestras madres viven o no. Yo recuerdo
que poco después de la muerte de mi
madre empecé a darme cuenta de una
relación aún más fuerte con nuestra
Santísima Madre, María. Ella es una
madre para todos nosotros como
hermanos y hermanas adoptivos de
Cristo. Tal vez es por eso que honramos
a Maria, no solo por un día, sino por
todo un mes.
Al honrar a nuestra Santa Madre todo
este mes, recordemos también de honrar
a nuestras madres.

ships. We are a preschool-eighth grade elementary

We will have a few spots available in certain grades

The 8th graders are very close to graduating. Their
8th grade Banquet is Friday, May 18th at
6:00pm , Baccalaureate is on Sunday, May 20th
at 10:30am Mass and Graduation on Monday,
May 21st at 6:00pm in the church. We are so
proud of our 2018 Graduates!!!!

Divorcio
Cuando se le preguntó, Jesús tenía claro el divorcio: " Dios los creó hombre y mu-jer” (Génesis 1:27) y " De manera que ya no son dos, sino
una sola carne. Pues bien, lo que Dios unió no lo separe el hombre" (Mt. 19: 6). Nuestra cultura tóxica no se preocupa por Dios o la verdad. En cambio, se promueve la mentira de que el amor es divertido, siempre debe sentirse bien y cuando el amor se convierte en trabajo, ¡vete! Esto ha resultado en relaciones de series, promesas incumplidas, lujuria insaciable y la victimización de mujeres y niños. Los Católicos sacramentalmente casados lo deben saber y deben proteger-se de esta mentalidad. La naturaleza sacramental del matrimonio Católico significa que un hombre y una mujer se presentan libremente a Cristo y a Su Iglesia el día de su boda, jurando de por vida amor y unidad fiel, fructífero, permanente y exclusivo. Entonces Cristo se convierte en parte de sus vidas en un pacto irrompible, unido por Él. Una boda secular es un contrato y los contratos se pueden romper. Un pacto no se puede romper porque no es entre dos personas, sino entre dos personas y Dios. Dios es fiel y no rompe con su promesa o su Palabra. Comparte esto con tu cónyuge. El malva-do quiere discordia y divorcio. No te dejes seducir por su juego. No dejes que la palabra “D” entre en tus pensamientos cuando estés frustrado o enojado. No se dejen seducir por la batalla que se libra contra el verdadero significado del matri-monio, la santidad y la familia. Si el divorcio ha entrado en tu pensamiento, pídele a Jesús que te dé la capacidad de amar más y aumentar tu vida de oración. Busca la reconciliación y pide las gracias para amar más. Ama y sirve a tu cónyuge.

Divorce
When questioned, Jesus was clear
about divorce: “God created them male and female” (Gen. 1:27) and
“The two shall become one flesh; what God
has joined together, let no man separate” (Mt.
19:6).
Our toxic culture does not care about God or
truth. Instead, the lie is promoted that love is
fun, should always feel good and when love
becomes work, leave! This has resulted in se-
rial relationships, broken promises, insatiable
lust and the victimization of women and chil-
dren. Sacramentally married Catholics must
be aware of and protect themselves from this
mentality. The sacramental nature of Catholic
marriage means that a man and a woman
freely present themselves to Christ and His
Church on their wedding day, vowing faithful,
fruitful, permanent, exclusive unity and love
for life. Christ then becomes a part of their
lives in an unbreakable covenant bound to-
gether by Him.
A secular wedding is a contract and contracts
can be broken. A covenant cannot be broken
because it is not between two people, but be-
tween two people and God. God is faithful and
doesn’t break with His Promise or His Word.
Share this with your spouse. The evil one
wants discord and divorce. Don’t be seduced
into his game. Don’t let the “D” word enter
your thoughts when you are frustrated or an-
gry. Don’t be seduced into the battle being
waged against the true meaning of marriage,
holiness and family. If divorce has entered
your thoughts, ask Jesus to give you the ca-
pacity to love more and increase your prayer
life. Seek reconciliation and ask for the graces
to love more. Love and serve your spouse�

Continuamos nuestra serie reflexionando sobre las accio-
nes que los padres pueden tomar para ayudar a sus hijos a
llegar al cielo. Hasta ahora hemos discutido el Bautismo,
la Oración y el ofrecimiento.
La acción de esta semana es Amarnos los Unos a los
Otros.
El mayor mandamiento de Jesús que nos dio fue el del
amor: amar a todos como él nos amó.
¡La primera forma en que los padres hacen esto es estando
y permaneciendo casados! Todos los niños tienen derecho
a tener una madre y un padre que amen al niño lo suficien-
te como para seguir casados, incluso cuando eso signifique
un sacrificio. Los niños necesitan padres que puedan mos-
trarles cómo amar en los buenos y malos momentos.
Cuando dan un buen ejemplo en la forma en la que se tra-
tan el uno al otro, sus hijos aprenderán más fácilmente.
No compare a sus hijos entre sí. Esto puede provocar riva-
lidades, celos, envidia, peleas, odio y muerte, si no física-
mente, al menos en el corazón.
¡Que Dios nos conceda la gracia de amarnos los unos a los
otros!

We continue our series reflecting on actions parents can
take to help your children get to heaven. So far we have
discussed Baptism, Prayer, and Offer it Up
This week’s action is Love One Another.
The greatest commandment of Jesus gave us was that of
love—to love everyone as he loved us.
The first way parents do this is by being and staying
married to each other! Every child has a right to a moth-
er and a father who love the child enough to stay married
even when it means sacrifice. Children need parents who
can show them how to love in good times and bad times.
When you give good example in the way you treat each
other, your children will learn more easily.
Do not compare your children with each other. This can
incite rivalries, jealousies, envy, fights, hatred, and kill-
ing — if not physically, then at least in the heart.
May God grant us the grace to love one another!
