PASTOR’S MESSAGE This Sunday is the beginning of the Advent season. Today is the first day of the New church calendar cycle C or the liturgical year, cycle C. In this liturgical cycle C, the Church invites us to reflect on St. Luke's Gospel. In this year the Church celebrates the Jubilee Year, the Year of Mercy that reflects the famous parable of the 'Prodigal and His Brother' in St. Luke's Gospel. Advent season focuses on preparing for the celebration of Christmas, namely the celebration of Jesus' birthday, the coming of the Messiah. Nevertheless, today's gospel tells us about Christ's Second Coming at the end of history. Our Christian life is all about preparing for Christ fully coming into our lives and through us into the world. The purpose of the liturgical year or church year - if we want to call it - is to invite us to live out the life of our Lord Jesus Christ as we are his followers. So at the beginning of the liturgical year, we pray that all of us, parishioners of Our Lady Of Peace, may pursue great enthusiasm to reflect on and to live out the messages of St. Luke's gospel in order to joyfully welcome Jesus into our life and into the world. If we keep doing this we do not have to worry about anything may happen at the end of time. Sincerely yours in Christ Fr. Peter Thang Nguyen

NEWS FROM PASTORAL COUNCIL --Due to many commitments, Aduvie Akpedeye finds he is no longer able to serve as Chair of Pastoral Council and has submitted his resignation to Father Peter. As well, Art Judson finds he can no longer accept the responsibilities of Social Justice. We want to thank both of these people and wish them God’s many Blessings. Accordingly, Brian Martens becomes our new Pastoral Council Chair effective immediately. This creates the opening of Vice Chair.
