Parish Food Pantry Our Food Pantry is serving many families and individuals this winter. For many, the Pantry is a vital resource in their daily challenge to make ends meet. Our goal is to assist families in meeting their basic food needs. The OLMC Food Pantry could not exist without the support of our parish community. We are always in need of non-perishable foods and donations. The Red Cross recently dropped us a note asking for cold cereal, peanut butter, canned fruit, spaghetti sauce, chunky soups and stews, macaroni and cheese and various canned beans. They especially need the above mentioned items because they are seldom provided through the state emergency food sources. However, all types of non-perishable food items are welcome. Please leave your donations in one of the vestibules facing the parking lot.

Stations of the Cross Fridays during Lent, we will observe Stations of the Cross 7 p.m. Please join us as we recall Je-sus’ journey to Calvary. We encourage active participation as we seek volunteer Altar Servers and Readers.

Please note: This year during Lent, the 12:10 p.m. weekday (Monday-Thursday) Masses will be replaced by a 7 p.m. Mass. Please see Mass Intentions on page 2

for a complete schedule. 2011 Archbishop’s Annual Appeal

There are so many ways God is made visible in the world around us. Our Church of Newark, which serves Hud-son, Essex, Union and Bergen coun-ties, sees God in the hundreds of thousands of people it takes care of every year by teaching, sheltering and car-ing for all who come to it for help. We can only offer as-sistance because of your generosity to the 2011 Arch-bishop’s Annual Appeal. Won’t you please take a mo-ment to fill out a pledge card? This sacrifice on your part will show that you too see the face of God in every-one who seeks help. Pencils and AAA envelopes are located in the church pews and in the back of the church. Thank you.

Saints FuN FaCts St. Julia Billart (1751-1816)

Feast Day: April 8 Patron against poverty, bodily ills

Julia was foundress, and first superior general of the Con-gregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame. Her predominating trait in the spiritual order was her ardent charity. Her whole soul was echoed in the simple formula which was continual-ly on her lips and pen: “Oh qu’il est bon, le bon Dieu” (How good God is). She possessed all the qualities of a perfect

superior, and inspired her subjects with confidence and tender affection.
