Omaha Gives! is a year-round online giving platform organized by

the Omaha Community Foundation to grow philanthropy in our area. Each

year, there is a 24-hour online giving event in May to celebrate nonprofits.

REMEMBER....This year's giving day will take place on Wednesday, May 23,

2018. However, new this year, in addition to the big day on May 23rd, you

can now schedule donations throughout the month! From May 1st-May

22nd, you can go online to schedule as many donations as you would like

and still participate in the big day!

Congratulations to our Parishioner Jamie Berglund who

was one of 13 people honored by the University of

Nebraska at Omaha’s College of Public Affairs for her

excellence in public service!

Alumni awards celebration: The University of Nebraska at

Omaha’s College of Public Affairs and Community Service

honored 13 people for their excellence in public service at

its annual alumni awards celebration March 27. Individuals

were selected for stewardship, volunteerism, leadership

and a commitment to social justice. The following alumni

were honored: Jamie Berglund, Sharif Liwaru, Victoria

Novak, Lorie Thomas, Doris “DD” Launderville, Charles

Timothy Dickel, Jay Vidlak, Jason Vanis, Troy Romero, Sheryl

Luft Lohaus and Kim Retzlaff. John W. Ewing Jr. and Dr. Viv

Ewing received the Hubert Locke Distinguished Service

Award for demonstrating exemplary commitment to the

MARKETPLACE 2018

Our Lady of Lourdes had a fun and eventful Marketplace for our 2nd and

3rd graders! A special thank you to Melissa Clements for organizing this

event. Our graduates often come back to tell us that is one of their favorite

memories of our school.

Marketplace is a day where the 2nd and 3rd graders get to live in the time

when Jesus lived. They are first placed in one of the 12 Tribes of Israel and

then spend the day making and eating food, crafts, building projects, and

playing games of that time.
