Mass Intentions

My Dear Family of Our Lady of Lourdes, As I mentioned in my column last week, this week we are saying farewell to Fr. Patrick and Fr. Fernando who will be concelebrating the 11:45a.m. and 1:30p.m. Masses. Following the 11:45 Mass and continuing so that they might join us again after the 1:30 Mass, we will be celebrating with them at a reception in the parish hall. I invite everyone to join us and give them a loving send-off Fr. Patrick is one of the rare gems. He not only can speak Creole, English, and Spanish he can live – and dance - in the cultures that speak them. He has been a cheerful chaplain to the school and has helped us bring the School Advisory Board and the Parish and School Association to life. He has raised the profile of our Haitian brothers and sisters and leaves our parish family healthier and holier. I, in particular, am grateful for the care and attention he has given us, his brother priests, especially in the house. Fr. Fernando is our reason to hope! A year ago we wondered who Fr. Orejuela was and went right to the internet to find out something about him. A year later we – and he – hate to see him go, so dear has he become to us. He has stirred up the fire within us, turned our hearts to Christ, and then gave our minds solid teaching in the faith. The good news is that while he leaves us as parochial vicar, he will return to us as preacher and teacher. God is good and He is particularly good to us. We have been blessed to have had Fr. Patrick and Fr. Fernando join our parish family and our hearts are full of gratitude. I know that the comings and goings of our parish priests is difficult. Praise God! That it is difficult shows that they opened their hearts to us and brought us to Christ. With our support and prayers I am sure that they will bring to their new parish families the same gift of self that reveals Jesus. Thank you, Fr. Patrick and Fr. Fernando! May you go with God!

Mi Querida Familia de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes, Como mencioné en mi columna de la semana pasada, esta semana estamos diciendo adiós al Padre Patrick y al Padre Fernando quienes estarán concelebrando las Misas de 11:45a.m. y 1:30p.m. Después de la Misa de 11:45 vamos a celebrar una recepción en el salón parroquial y continuaremos para que se unan de nuevo a nosotros después de la Misa de 1:30. Invito a todos a unirse a nosotros y darles una cariñosa despedida. El Padre Patrick es una de las raras joyas. Él no sólo sabe hablar Creole, Inglés y Español pero puede vivir - y bailar - en las culturas que lo hablan. Ha sido un alegre capellán de la escuela y nos ha ayudado a renovar la Junta de Consejo de la Escuela y la Asociación Parroquial y de la Escuela. Se ha elevado el perfil de nuestros hermanos y hermanas de Haití y deja nuestra familia parroquial más sana y santa. Yo, en particular, le agradezco la atención que nos ha dado a sus hermanos sacerdotes, sobre todo en la casa. ¡El Padre Fernando es nuestra razón para la esperanza! Hace un año nos preguntábamos quién es el Padre Orejuela y fuimos directo al internet para averiguar algo sobre él. Un año más tarde nosotros - y él - odiamos ver que se vaya quien se ha convertido en alguien tan querido para nosotros. Ha despertado el fuego dentro de nosotros, volvió nuestros corazones a Cristo, y luego dio a nuestras mentes enseñanza sólida en la fe. La buena noticia es que, si bien nos deja como vicario parroquial, volverá a nosotros como predicador y maestro. Dios es bueno y es especialmente es bueno con nosotros. Hemos sido bendecidos por haber tenido al Padre Patrick y al Padre Fernando unirse a nuestra familia parroquial y nuestros corazones están llenos de gratitud. Sé que las idas y venidas de los sacerdotes parroquiales es difícil. ¡Alabado sea Dios! La dificultad demuestra que ellos abrieron sus corazones a nosotros y nos trajeron a Cristo. Registration for 2013—2104 Christian Formation (CF) is in progress. At this point, we are planning for

sixty-five (65) class sessions for children each week plus, at least, seven (7) class sessions each week for

adults. We will add additional classes if necessary. Each class session on the schedule addresses a specific

age group and a specific catechetical need. Please register as early as possible. This helps our planning and

provides a better opportunity for you to register for classes that meet your needs.

Here are a few dates for your early planning:

September 3, 2013—First day of Christian Formation class session

December 16, 2013 through January 5, 2014—Advent/Christmas break (No CF class sessions)

February 22, 2014 through February 27, 2014—Teaching Touching Safety

March 24, 2014 through March 29, 2014—Public School Spring break (No CF class sessions)
