Dear family,

Merry Christmas to all of you! During advent we have prepared our hearts to receive the immensity of His love and what a joy to

encounter it today. Before He could even speak a word, Our Blessed Lord showed us a loving heart full of compassion, mercy,

solidarity, encouragement and joy. The Christmas crib is a school of learning for all of us. And focusing on love, Our Lord has a lot

to teach us. Firstly, we learn that love is shown in being present with the beloved. Our Lord humbled Himself to be in our midst out

of pure love. Secondly, love is not afraid to get its hands dirty, that is to say, Jesus came to us in the darkness. While the rulers of

the land led by fear and things were most uncertain, the Light came to be with us and was born where farm animals lived and fed.

Love, my friends, true love, will go to any length and even be humiliated to unite with the beloved. Lastly, let us consider our re-

sponse, if we have been loved unconditionally and when it was uncomfortable and inconvenient, what will our response be? Jesus

will confront us, call us to task, guide us and eventually die for us. Will we accept His love in all its aspects, even when its hard, He

who first loved us.

In His joy, Fr. Daniel

At Christmas we exchange gifts as a sign of our love, affection and

thoughtfulness of each others’ needs and desires. The best gifts, however, come from selfless love shown to us. Here at OLOG we did not wait until

Christmas to do this.

Members of ministries, families and individuals stepped up without

complaint to help with the bazaar and feast day celebration. We worked hard, tired ourselves beyond, and had a lot of fun. I am thrilled to be called

your pastor. So...thank you, thank you, THANK YOU, my dear parish

for your dignified and beautiful hearts shown in service this past feast

day!!I love you all, Fr. Daniel

Mass Readings for Week of Dec 25

Want to take a second listen to last Sunday’s homily?

Listen to recorded homilies by visit-ing www.ologtaos.com .

At the beginning of every year, our parish mission of San Geronimo has new fiscales (Pueblo church care-takers) are appointed by tribal

government. While I look forward to meeting and working with a new set of fiscales, I am going to sorely miss the cordial and friendly

experience the deacons and I have had with Head Fiscale Ben Martinez and his fiscal companions.

Thank you men for a fine job and May God bless you for all you have done! -Fr. Daniel

On behalf of the clergy and staff of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Merry Christmas to all our parishioners and

friends!

The parish office will be closed Monday, December 26th, 2016.
