Dear Parishioners and Friends of Our Lady of Guadalupe,

Many thanks to Friar Mario Serrano, OFM Conv for being with us for our Winter Novena to St. Jude. His homilies certainly inspired and helped us have a greater appreciation of St. Francis and his spirituality. God bless his ministry as vocation director and chaplain at the University of Texas at El Paso.

Forty days after Jesus was born, in accordance with the Torah, Mary and Joseph brought Jesus to the temple in Jerusalem to be presented to the Lord. What they could not have known is that two elderly people of the temple, Simeon and Anna, recognized in the six-week-old child the Savior of the world. As we celebrate this special feast today, let us challenge ourselves to recognize Jesus in the faces of those we meet.

God bless you and have a Blessed Week.

Fr. Tony
