The Society of St. Vincent de Paul would like to take this opportunity to thank the
parishioners of Our Lady of Fatima parish for their generous outpouring of sup-
port during our “Tree of Giving” campaign and our Christmas assistance this
year. We are overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of all of those who
have donated items to help make many families Christmases very happy and en-
joyable. Thank you to all of you who purchased gifts, donated food items, pur-
chased gift cards for teenagers, and provided financial support. We hope that
you know how much you have all helped us to carry out our ministry help
those who are in need. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank
all of the volunteers who sorted gifts, wrapped gifts, helped with the distri-
bution of food, and delivered the Christmas grocery orders to the homes of
our clients. Thank you all once again for your support and for answering
the Gospel call to love and serve. The Members of St. Vincent de Paul
would like to wish all of our Parish family a wonderful New Year filled with
many blessings!
THANK YOU!
On Sunday December 23rd, many members of our Parish Community came together for
the fourth annual Jeannine MacLellan Memorial tea which was organized by the MacLellan
family. The members of St. Vincent de Paul would like to extend a very special thank you to
all who attended this event, to those who worked the event and helped out in a multitude of ways, and to the
MacLellan family who were instrumental in making this fundraising effort a success. We are very thankful
and appreciative that all the proceeds from this event go directly to St. Vincent de Paul
to support our work throughout the year. This year we raised $1505.00! As many of you
know, the ministry of St. Vincent de Paul was very dear to Jeannine. We want to thank
Earl, Vanessa, Justin & Stacie for choosing to honor their wife and mother by supporting
a ministry that was so close to Jeannine’s heart. Thank you, all!
The next meeting for SVDP will be Monday, January 14th at 6:00 pm in the Glebe House basement. Hope to see you there!

Curated by students in CATH 298 at St Francis Xavier University, and featuring 30 artifacts from seven different local collections, this exhibit explores the rich history of the Catholic Church in Antigonish County. Artifacts range from Moses Coady’s hat and ecclesiastical items, to an early 20thletter from the Vice-Rector of St FX detailing his concerns about co-education of students from the college and Mount St. Bernard. Exhibit runs until late January 2019.
