Laughlin, Ph.D is Emeritus Professor of Anthropology and Religion at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada. Also trained in neuro- science, he is the co-author of several books, including Brain, Symbol and Expe- rience. His ethnographic research includes Uganda, Tibetan Buddhist monks in Nepal, and the Navajo people of the American Southwest. He is a practitioner of Tibetan dream yoga, and specializes in alternative states and religion. Prof. Dr. med. Eckart Rüther studied Medicine, Phi- losophy and Psychology in Munich, Montpellier (France) and Hamburg. He is a special- ist in Psychiatry, Neurology, Psychotherapy and Sleep Medicine. Robert Bosnak, PsyA is a Dutch and American Jungian psychoanalyst, who studied law and criminology at Leiden University and analytical psy- chology in Zurich. He has practiced in Boston and Syd- ney, and currently in Santa Barbara/Los Angeles. He developed embodied imagination, which is applied worldwide by thera- pists and artists. His books have appeared in over a dozen languages. He is a Past President of IASD. Featured Speakers Include Stanley Krippner, PhD: Terror After Combat: Identifying and Treating PTSD Nightmares in War Veterans. Dr Krippner is pro- fessor of psychology at Saybrook Graduate School, researcher and author/co-author of over 30 books, a Past President of IASD, recipient of the APA award for Distinguished Con- tributions to the International Advancement of Psychology and the Ashley Montague Peace Award. Victor Spoormaker, PhD: The Role of Disturbed Rapid Eye Movement in Sleep in the Development of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder: Insights from Neuroimaging Studies. He received his PhD at Utrecht University in the Netherlands and continued to research nightmares in relation to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in Utrecht and Oxford. He is currently at the Neuroimaging Depart- ment of the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry in Munich, and is the author of a book on Dream Incuba- tion and Creativity. Jaap Lancee: Cognitive Behav- ioral Self-Help Treatment for Nightmares. He currently conducts research on dreams at Utrecht Univer- sity. His main professional interest is self-help intervention for nightmares based on cognitive restructuring (imagery rehearsal therapy). He mod- erates four web sites on sleep, dreams, and nightmares. Bas Klinkhamer: presenting a workshop on The Search for the Duality Between Ego and Soul in the Dream. He is co-owner of the Dutch Institute of Applied Integral Psychology’s and in 2010 created the first, very popular, television program on dreams in The Netherlands.
