Hi everyone, welcome to May, or as we like to call it Motorcycle awareness
month. Make sure to mention it to all of your non riding friends either by word of
mouth or social media. It’s also a great time to start displaying your look twice
save a life signs. There will be no May gathering this month as we will be enjoying
our chapter maintenance day at Phil and Rosie’s house. Phil says we can show up
starting at 10AM and stay till he gets tired of looking at us. Ok he didn’t really say
that last part. Please don’t forget to bring your bikes supplies and side dishes. The
chapter will bring brake fluid and final drive oil and those who take advantage of
it can split the cost. The chapter will also provide burgers and hot dogs. Let’s get
those bikes ready to ride and those bellies topped off.

As you know the only thing left to do after your bike maintenance is done is to go
ride the darn thing. On May 14th I will be leading a ride to Stockport, Ohio to see
Captain Hook’s tomb we will also take a look at the mill and dam. I will also
provide a little history lesson as we visit Big Bottom Memorial Park just south of
the city. This will be an all day ride with lots of great scenery.
Next on the agenda is a trip to the Lima, Ohio firefighters museum on the 21st the
museum displays vintage fire equipment and a memorial to those that gave their
lives serving the city. The museum is located next to Lincoln Park which has a train
exhibit as well.
We will also try to sneak in some weekday rides as the weather permits. I would
like to do some of the local bike nights as well as some ice cream runs or
miniature golf. We also gave the tag ride another try for this year. Keep an eye on
your email as Barb and I already sent out a picture for the first tag. You need to
find the location and get a picture of it with your bike. Be the first to email it to
me and then you get to pick the next tag (In Ohio please)
Mark your calendars and tell everyone you know-------We are having a Dine and
Donate at Applebee's in Brunswick on Thurs, May 26 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and
we will donate all proceeds to Ride for Kids!!!! And we can have a bake sale there
too!!! I will forward the flier. We can do just about anything we want to get
people to go but we can't pass out fliers in the parking lot or at the restaurant-----
they will void our event. We can put the fliers in the schools,
businesses......wherever. People just have to present the flier prior to ordering
and then 15% of the bill prior to tax will go to our cause!!! I don't know about
you, but I expected a few hours one evening and they are giving us the whole
day!!!! Again Thurs, May 26, 2016 get to Applebee's in Brunswick!!!!! Bring your
friends!!!! Tell everyone you know!!!!!!
One more thing, we will have a white elephant auction for Ride for Kids during the
June gathering.
