How was the sun Born?

Billions of years ago there was no sun, there were only great clouds of dust and gas. As these clouds collected,

they formed a huge swirling mass. Gravity pulled the dust and gas closer together. This produced heat. The center of the huge mass grew hotter and hotter. It grew so hot that it

began to glow. The sun was born.

At about the same time, the nine planets that now travel around the sun were born too. The sund and the planets are called the solar system. The sun is at the center of the solar system. The sun is the largest object in our solar system.

If there were no sunlight, all planets would die. Then there would be no carrots, apples, no corn, and no beans. Animals that eat grass would die. And the animals that eat the planet-eating animals would die too. So would people! We would have nothing left to eat. Without the sun, the Earth would be so cold that no plants, animals, or people could survive.

So why is the sun important?

The sun is the Most important object in the solar system. It supplies energy to the planets--in the form of light and heat. Our own Earth is one of these planets. The sun provides the energy needed by all living things.

Students will research about the sun and why its important. And find out other ways how the sun is useful to our planet earth.

Students will learn the effects of our sun and how can we help our planet earth. The sun changes. No matter when or where we look

at the sun, we will always see something interesting. We look at the sun rising every

day so its important to know about the most important planet.
