Part Two: The Trial, Crucifixion and Resurrection

The Triumphal EntryAnd the multitudes going before Him, and those who followed after were crying out, saying “Hosanna to the Son of David; Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.” ~ Matthew 21:9

“Let Heaven Ring, Hosanna"...........................................................................................................David T. Clydesdale

The Upper RoomAnd while they were eating, Jesus took some bread, and after a blessing, He broke it and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat: this is My body.” And when He had taken the cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins…” ~ Matthew 26: 26-28

“Remember”................................................................................................................................................ Ken Clifton

The Trial and CrucifixionAnd those who had seized Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas, the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered…Now Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor questioned Him saying, “Are you the King of the Jews?” And Jesus said to him, “It is as you say.”…Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Preatorium and gathered the whole Roman court around Him. And they stripped Him, and put a scarlet robe on Him…And when they had come to a place called Golgotha, which means Place of a Skull….and when they had crucified Him, they divided up His garments among themselves, casting lots…And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit…Now the centurion and those with him keeping guard over Jesus, when they saw the earth quake and the things that were happening, became very frightened and said, “Truly, this was the Son of God.” Matthew 26:57; 27:11, 27-28, 50-54

~ A Word from the Pastor ~

We have a number of fellowship groups that meet regularly, we are active in numerous mission projects throughout the community, and we offer several Bible Studies and classes. This April, I am teaching a Bible Study class which meets on Tuesday afternoons at 5:15 pm. The class began on April 1 and will continue until April 29.

During this Lenten season, we hope that you will join us again to worship almighty God. We will be having a Maundy Thursday dinner and worship service this Thursday, April 17, at 6:00 pm where Holy Communion will be served in remembrance of Jesus’ Last Supper with his disciples. Next Sunday, April 20, is Easter and we hope that you will be present for the joyous celebration as we worship our resurrected and victorious Lord. On Easter we will have two identical worship services at 8:30 am and 10:00 am. Typically we have one worship service on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am. If you have any questions or would like to know more about our congregation, please stop by our Visitor’s Center in the Gathering Space, visit our website, or speak with me.

Blessings in Christ,

Reverend Jody Moore

~ About our Guest Conductor ~

for Mickey. He also had the opportunity to play the piano for Kathy Lee Gifford on “Live with Regis and Kathy Lee” and for Mickey. He also had the opportunity to play the piano for Kathy Lee Gifford on “Live with Regis and Kathy Lee” and accompanied Jodi Benson (voice of Ariel, the Little Mermaid) on CNN’s “Larry King Live.”

He then began his career in musical theatre as a music director/conductor. In his career he has had the great good fortune of working with so many talented people and some icons of stage and screen like Sally Struthers and Rue McLannahan. The musicals he’s worked on have ranged from classics such as “Fiddler on the Roof”, “Guys and Dolls” and “Hello Dolly” to more contemporary ones such as “The Producers”, “The Full Monty” and “Les Miz.”

As a vocal coach, Ken was asked to be one of the coaches for the “Voice of McDonalds,” a vocal competition held at their Global Conference in Orlando. Over ten thousand people originally auditioned and 11 were chosen to compete. CNN and the Today Show covered the event. Also he got to work with Academy Award winner, Jennifer Hudson, to prepare her for her final callback for her role in “Dreamgirls.”

He wrote the opening production number for the 2008 Rose Bowl Parade; a show for the Disney Cruise Line, recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra and two musicals produced in Florida. His children’s musical “Being a Bee” was produced by Macy’s at Herald Square and played for Tony nominated singer/actor John Tartaglia at Feinstein’s in NYC. This past fall, Ken worked with Sally Struthers in a musical production.

Ken spent six summers as music director of “The Lost Colony” in Manteo. While there he got the chance to meet the wonderful people of the Outer Banks. One of the friends he found here was Jason Evans and Ken truly considers it an honor to join with Jason and the good people of the Outer Banks Presbyterian Church for his sixth event with the Music Ministry of Outer Banks Presbyterian Church.
