Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge Complex Hunt Plan Revision Note to file Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge is proposing to open to hunting an additional 246.98 acres of newly acquired public lands. Hunting of migratory birds including waterfowl, moorhen/gallinule, American woodcock, mourning dove, coot, and Wilson’s snipe; big game including white-tailed deer and wild turkey; and upland/small game including cottontail rabbit, fox, squirrel, coyote, ring-necked pheasant, raccoon, opossum, skunk, woodchuck, and American crow would be authorized according to State regulations. These new acres consist of the Dellinger, York Unit, and Schiller Units. Hunting will be allowed on the newly designated areas of the Refuge Complex as follows: Dellinger Unit-96.44 acres (see map) Migratory Birds- open to public hunting in accordance with State regulations, seasons and bag limits Big Game- open to public hunting in accordance with State regulations, seasons, and bag limits. Upland Game- open to general public hunting in accordance with State regulations, seasons and bag limits. “Furbearers” open to hunting according to Refuge-specific regulations. Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge is proposing to open to hunting an additional 246.98 acres of newly acquired public lands.
