ABOUT US
The Material Characterization Laboratory is a
testing laboratory that specializes in physical and
chemical characterization. This laboratory is also
used for ECH 3903 (Material Characterization
Laboratory) undergraduate course. On 19 May
2015, this lab has been accredited with MS ISO/IEC
17025 (SAMM No. 711) for two analytical services
under the cluster of chemical and physical. Two
instruments were certified in this accreditation,
namely the Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)
and Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS).

The determination of elemental concentration by using Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS) at parts per million (ppm) level. The elements are:
Nickel (Ni) with range 0.03-0.3 ppm
Zinc (Zn) with range 0.1 ppm to 1.0 ppm
Copper (Cu) with range 0.1 ppm to 1.0 ppm
