Suburban, Regional & Intercity trains have to carry more & more passengers in increasing comfort and safety. Car builders have to meet this challenge. A new, double-deck platform was designed, capable of modularisation to meet all needs, using the full width of the SNCF gauge.

To avoid expensive carbody alterations, Faiveley Transport engineers developed an ultra flat external camera (only 25mm) with low light sensitivity and fast compression systems allowing real-time viewing, essential for Driver Only Operation.

More, the CCTV system automatically handles different train configurations - with only 1 DVR per train consist (6 – 10 cars), further simplifying installation and maintenance.

Renovation is an opportunity to increase safety and comfort for the passengers, and economies for the operators.TransAdelaide wanted a complete CCTV & automated audio-visual information system that would allow Driver Only Operation, but had to be simple to run and easy to use. None of the trains had been designed with this in mind, space was limited.

Faiveley Transport experts from Australia to France joined forces to design an overall IP CCTV & PIS system including Voice over IP intercom with reduced cabling and a user-friendly, intuitive touch screen that puts the driver in the driver’s seat! The Scalable Architecture system automatically recognises the number of cars and their configuration, the “test script process” controls the performance of all the system parts – greatly simplifying maintenance.

The modular capacity of the system also allowed incorporation of a Wi-Fi downloading solution the following year, another labour-saving step!

warsaw MetroWarsaw’s new Inspiro metro is setting standards in environmental protection & operating costs. Comfort and security levels are equally high.An audio intercom and video surveillance system that could connect with the stations was required, linking the train with the Control Centre.

Faiveley Transport engineers provided a full duplex intercom VoIP solution on Inspiro for communications between passengers, driver and control centre. The CCTV has total transparency between train & station, allowing the platform cameras to be shown on the driver’s display, all in real time and suitable for Driver Only Operation. Plus IP saloon cameras to control centre, which are continuously recorded on the H264 Network Video Recorder with a huge storage capacity of one month.

This integrated system gives full access to the complete architecture from one point on the train or from the Control Centre, a huge help for maintenance and operators alike.
